Cam Tower Oil Leaks

Got side tracked. Put in the short Merc fuel injectors. After I spent all last Saturday looking for the grommets in the garage.
Well, I didn't give up. Got up Sunday and found them. Yep, in the garage. In the exact same box-o-parts I looked through for hours on Saturday.
The fittings came out pretty easy. But then again, the engine was on a stand and the cam covers off. So access was pretty outstanding.
I didn't bother with a 12mm wrench. Went right at it with vice-grips and a little tapping with a small sledgehammer. Worked a treat.
All in:
The other side track is putting on those 85/86 manifolds that I had problems with a couple years ago.
That's another thread....

Greg, the gaskets you describe here sound like just the thing for my current issue with my '78. I know my mechanic has contacted you about this and apparently the early cars require a different gasket... I'll be in touch.

the early cam towers have a figure 8 gasket around the base of each set of lifter bores,
the super thin gasket must be removed,
and the new version gasket fitted without the figure 8 gaskets,
or the towers will leak along the top edge
