If a 6.5L shows up here in a crate, I'll get double tapped by the ol' ball and chain.

Very easy to solve this problem. Go out to the driveway. Drink a 30 pack or a bottle of rum. Start your shark. Put a brick on the gas pedal. Pass out on lawn. When you wake up, you'll have a use for the stroker motor.

Glad to be of service

Greg,

Do you have a price [something less than the default $1,000 price :-) ] for the following:

Rear cargo cover (if black and in excellent condition - the one that attaches to the rear hatch, not the mesh one).
The two little plastic 'D' shaped cosmetic pieces that sit just inboard, and next to, the fog / driving lights (if in excellent condition).

I was at Greg's the day the accident happened and his customer drove the car in.....As I recall the Jeep driver was the 16 year old girlfriend of the kid who owned the Jeep. She had no license, no insurance......dropped her cell phone and leaned over to get it and hit the 928 which was parked. So YES be sure YOUR insurance company agrees with what you think your car is worth......otherwise it is "actual cash value" which is now based on some Craig's list adds !!!!!! And yes this was a very nice 928....Damn shame it got hit.

At 16, driving with no license and no insurance, check out her parents' homeowners/umbrella liability coverage. Insurance is there to protect the perp from devastating financial losses. Such as the one her parents are in for if they don't have enough insurance. Boyfriend is just as guilty if he let her drive the car; otherwise it was stolen and she goes directly to jail. Somebody there has to have something that can be attached to recover the costs. Victim's settlement with his own insurance company does not relieve the minor driver or her parents of liability for the rest of the loss. Victime needs to go after them now, and get his claim started against the parents before the insurance company gets started on their action.

An unlicensed, uninsured driver is automatically guilty in any accident. If they hadn't been driving, there wouldn't have been an "accident".

If money matters, the path is clear.

But I wonder if money matters to this customer.

The customer that owned this car is a "big end" attorney. He could easily make every single person involved life a living hell...but part of the reason I even let him walk into my shop is that he's a real human being and understands that **** happens. He's on my "uber" cool list. By the time he got the insurance money (they did see the light and settled for more than they offered by about 2X) and he got the money for the "left over car", he's fine....and looking for a really cherry, low mileage GTS (not from Willhoit...been there, done that.)

Yes, I'm behind at bit. Sorry.

Trying to finish up an engine. Working the 12 hour day/7 days a week shift. This personal stuff takes a back seat.

I've got all the lists and the order of requests. I'll get back to everyone with information on Sunday, hopefully.

Thanks for being patient!
