Powder Coating lesson..
ON the water neck...
Maybe sand the PC where the hose goes some...cuz I had to _craaaaaaank_ down that hose clamp tighter than I was happy with, to keep water from seeping out under pressure.
Been wondering for a few weeks where coolant was going, and borrowed a cooling system pressure tester..and yup..was sneaking around the nice smooooth PC'd surface there.

Jeff--
Is the clamp "bottomed out"? I noticed that the original hoses were a lot thicker than the ones supplied these days. The original clamps run out of range before they get enough pressure on the hose. Took me a bit to figure it out. I want(ed) to keep the original cad-plated clamps rather than install the more-common SS clamps, so I ended up making plastic shims to put between the clamps and the hose at either end so they wouldn't leak. The coolant hasn't fallen out of those connections since the 'fix' with the shims.

take some 400 grit paper and sand the area where the hose fits,
also clean out the hose area on the inside of the hose,
put some anti seize on the clamp screw and put it back together

Is the clamp the original wide one that Porsche used, or some other kind?
I tighten mine and the hose end up splitting after a week, I don't know if it had to do with the clamp or not, but it was some narrow ACE hardware store clamp. I initially had to re tighten it after a small leak and mine is not powder coated. I replaced the hose with a new one and a wider clamp, no problems so far.
If your hose is not new keep an eye on it. I realized my hose was damaged because I was constantly checking the engine at every stop I made, cause I had just put the new rebuilt engine in, if I had not been checking, it could have easily over heated.
The link provided is showing clamps similar to what Porsche used, if you don't have a Porsche one you may want to buy one, I think Porsche ones are around $12 new, and keep a new radiator hose in your car just in case, too tight will split the hose.
