Default Massive A/T Fluid Leak

While driving the car to AutoZone to pickup some cleaners, etc. she started leaking from the torque converter enclosure on the front of the transmission. It is a very bad leak, as in pumping all the fluid out of the tranny (almost). I've some pictures below... Took a wrecker ride back home.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of transmission leak? It is a leak only as the transmission is shifting fine and no noted anomalies while underway. It looks like its coming out of the torque converter...

Drain plug fell out from torque converter, or a line up to the treansmission cooler burst maybe.

if you don't have to pull the transmission out, make sure you go ahead and replace the transmission pan gasket && AT filter. While you're in there....

I dont envy you , never a fun job dropping that SOB.. After all the work i did on my car years ago, it was drier than a popcorn fart underneath.....then...about a week later a dime size leak from the converter seal (that i had just replaced) popped up
Im still living with it.
One of these days when it bugs me enough i will fix it again.

There are cooler hoses along the sides...check those first before you decide to drop it.

It appears that the a/t fluid rubber supply line has a hole in it just as it goes from the metal tube to the hose section. Looks to be a bit smaller than a pencil lead. There was very little fluid left in the tranny.
I've pulled both lines from the car and hope to find a hose fabricator in Memphis that can do the work.

Tony, I'll tell you I'm happy. I was planning on the worst case.

Is it the line highlited here? Check with roger at 928srus for the parts if you can't get rebuilt locally. -

That was my first guess when yoiu described the issue - good luck with the repair :-)

I had both lines rebuilt today in about 3 hours. Not too shabby. The guy came up to my work, picked up the lines, rebuilt them and delivered them rebuilt. I couldn't believe it.
Two questions here, on the return line you have the little additional banjo thing with a ball bearing in it. What purpose is the ball bearing? Does it drop down into the bolt center or does it go into item 17 and then you install the bolt?
