Default 95 mm euro pistons

Anyone know where I can find some Euro pistons for my 4.5L. I am looking for a higher compression piston as I don't want to Nikasil the block and go with aftermarket pistons.

Well I quess I am full of stupid questions these day's. The euro didn't have higher compression pistons until the 4.7.

Does anyone know what the cost is to bore the block to 4.7L and use OEM pistons. I realize buying a 4.7 might be cheaper but I would like to keep the block that is original and build on that platform.

You really would want to just pick up a 4.7/5.0 engine. It will be A LOT cheaper.

The higher compression doesn't come from the pistons. In fact, if you just changed the pistons to "euro" pistons you would lower your compression ratio.

can you just shave the heads down to increase compression?
How much compression are you looking for?

Wouldn't it be more cost effective to supercharge than go with another block and/or higher compression pistons?

It depends on what his goal is. You can pretty easily get 300whp out of 5L. That would probably be $2000 maximum. A supercharger could easily be 2-3x more.

dont do anything with the 4.5 block. its not worth it. bore it and just alusil it, and you have a 4.7 for $2k when you can just buy the darn 4.7 short block for $1000 from anderson.
better to buy the $1500 short block for an 86, and bolt on a 5 liter to your set up for some BIG HP gains.
all you have to do is notch the pistons for valve clearances. ($500)
