OH HAPPY DAY!!! (something has arrived......)
I think that the attached pictures should say enough!
A big thank you to those who have participated in this endeavor!
The wait has been long, but it is almost over.
Grinding has commenced, once ground the thrust surface will be extended for the 1 exhaust cam for S4 owners. The S3 owners will not require a change.
Please refer to the RW thread for details http://reutterwerk.com/forums/showth...=12927&page=15
however I would like to install a set etc. and confirm them in a head first.
As soon as I have done the initial test, they will be shipped. This will happen within the first week of March.
If you wish to get them sooner than that, I will understand. But this is only a tiny bit more time in the grand scheme of things!

The arrival of these cams is probably as exciting for you as a new baby might be. By the way, what stage are the cams in that you are showing in these pictures? Some of those grinds look a little raw, don't you think? Jerry Feather

Baby is easier (short term), the gestation on these was over a year. The fun is pretty much over when the baby arrives, with these, it's just beginning. JK.
Congratulations are in order.

Erkka is correct. Lobes are not yet gowned. These are the raw blanks as they arrive from the factory.
In my cars I will be running the extended journal. However for those not desiring it, you can nip it off after the fact. But it will make it much harder to grind the cams later should you so desire.

So you can sell them as unground and have people work out the lobes on their own or are you going to offer a variety of profiles for specific applications?
BTW Colin... been missing your girlfriend's pic in your avatar -you two still together?

I didn't say the lobes looked raw. I said the grinds looked raw. I would guess that these came from the foundry looking all black and having no grinding on them at all. The pictures look to me like there has been some extensive grinding done on them, and that grinding looks to me like it is kind of raw. I would expect finished grinding on the bearing surfaces to look quite a bit better than these seem to look. That is why I wonder if the grinding that is done so far is just rough grinding waiting for some finish grinding; and I don't mean on the lobes. Jerry Feather
