You did this the hard way. I just drop the entire rear suspension, and roll it out of the way. Then the transmission comes out easily. And this has less effect on the alignement.

yea,would never do it laying on the ground.did a 240z that way, first and last time.wasn't all that hard,just alot of removing.putting it all back togaether may be another story.lol.lizard,the only thing i didnt remove from suspension was the trailing arm.does it come out in one piece?
6 bolts at the front trailing arm mount brackets, 6 bolts on the crossmember to body, suspend the tranny from the sway bar, and drop the whole rear suspension. The whole thing balances on a jack, easily R&R'ed by 1 person as long as you've got the bottom of the car at least 21" off the ground.
