Limited tire options. Why? Which way to go?
Hi All,
It's time for tires. I'm running Kumho Supra and guess they are NLA or I would get them again.
My sizes are staggered;
245/40/17 front
265/40/17 rear
Seems my only options are;
Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec (Extreme Performance Summer)
Continental ExtremeContact DW (Max Performance Summer)
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (Max Performance Summer)
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport (Ultra High Performance Summer)
Falken FK-452
Anyone recommend one of these over the others?
Thanks!!!

You think that's bad you should see what is available for 16" Wheels. I would pick the Michelin's from that group.

I have Michelin Pilot Sports for the past year and a half and love them on 17" Cup 1 wheels and love them... Also run Michelin on my DD and they last long.

We've got the Dunlop dizzy star-spec's on our S4 and I like them, maybe a lot-- not sure yet.
They are reasonably quiet on the highway (but still pretty new), ride well without undue harshness,
as good in the wet as anything else I've driven recently, and skittish in cold temp's (i.e. <32F, no surprise there).
I think they handle better than the Sumi HTRZ-III's on the GT, which is good because Sue probably has 75hp on me ...
I would do the Dunlops again, no question-- but we probably need to spring for a set of PS2's one of these days.
Cheers, Jim

This would be my first choice - best tire when factoring in wear, handing (wet & dry) price etc...
The latest generation from the well known RE730
Close 2nd the Conti's. When I purchased my 997 wheels they came with a new set of ContiSportContact 2, no complaints.
What size are your wheels? Moving to a 275/40-17 in the rear gives you 23 tires to choose from.
I have Michelin Pilot Sports on my 928 now, great tire but a bit expensive.

I don't know my offsets. The wheels and tires came with the car. The PO bought them from Jeanee. Apparently they are NLA.
