Default Spark plug seals

Am about to reattach cam covers..do the spark plug seals go in dry or with sealant applied to either surface?

Dry too. If this is motor-in-car, these can get knocked off when maneuvering the cover back on around obstacles. They should stay in place, but just check them carefully after the cover is repositioned to make sure they did.

Doesn't hurt to put a small dab just to hold the passeger side seals in place. Driver side isn't really an issue, there's enough clearance for it to fit straight on. On the passenger side the hall sensor mount interferes with the front lower corner of the cam cover. On mine I've machined away the overhang on the cam cover so it will fit straight on. If you haven't done this, and the hall sensor mount is still in place, I'd use a little sealant to hold the seals in place because they are bound to contact the head as you slide the cam cover under the hall sensor mount. What I'm talking about is literally just a little dab to hold the seal against the cam cover, NOT a bead going all the way around the seal or anything that extreme.
