Stephen, not at all! All part of trying to unravel the mystery of where the car has been and what it has done.

We spent today doing odds and ends-- got PEM's into the LH and EZK and hooked up the Sharktuner, everything seems happy. And we started going over the interior, I would like to find the sonnova beach that invented Armorall

And some good news-- we found the card that had the code for the CD-2 radio, and it works! I think we'll remove it and preserve it, and swap in a CDR-220.

But first: tires, timing belt, fresh coolant (one thing that the seller apparently didn't change), an oil change (he changed that but used 05w-30), check fuel lines, etc etc...

Good call on the CDR220 swap out! Surprised that thing had a CD2 in it! I figured those would have already been swapped out for better stuff by the time the GTS's came along. BTW, on the CDR220 with the iPod plug in are we supposed to get control through the head unit or is it just through the device itself? I am guessing the devices since these radios were out and then gone long before the iPod came out.

Sounds like you are really getting to know your car already! YEA!

BTW, update your "SIG" line bro!

CD2 was the best they offered until 1994. Mine came with one POS, but preserved fro the future.

My car was delivered by Intercity. The car arrived undamaged. A customer service issue was handled to my satisfaction by the owner of Intercity.

My '88 had a CD2 in it... It sort of works still...won't play a CD AT ALL, but sometimes you can get the radio to work! I am sure in its day it was pretty cool, but I think that day ended well before '94! LOL! Incidentally my '94 has the CD1 (I think that is the number anyway) with the remote 6 disc changer and someone added an Alpine amp along the way (much to my chagrin).

Actually it is a CR1 (cassette) or CD2 (CD) both sucked but IMO the CD2 was better. I had the CR1 with 6 disc changer in my turbo. when you consider the cost of these cars new they had no excuse to put inferior outdated technology in them but car stereos were just becoming important to car owners back then.

If I could I would. I won't be able to take my cars out for months. All this snow has left the roads covered in pot holes 6-8" deep. It will be months before they are fixed.
