Dunno for sure but I'd guess somewhere around $400 from a private seller - $800 from a supplier (i.e. 928 Intl). Might be cheaper to buy complete heads.

That would be an each and stock cams.....odd that you would need them. The GT cams tend to have unusual lobe pitting but not so for the milder S-4 ....

Why do you need to replace your cams? On S4 cams sometimes you will see a small amount of material missing on 1 or 2 of the lobes in the nose area, but I've been told that its okay.

Hmm..I wonder if your Japan market car saw alot of idling in traffic, that's hard on cams.
What's wrong with them? Do you have any pics? I love evaluating cams.

Based on numbers you list its not possible to say if they are S4 or GT cams. You need to get 5 digit numbers from rear end of cams. If for example 1-4 intake cam has 271 00 then its S4, if 271 01 then its GT. Another way is to measure lift. S4 intake is 9mm, GT 10mm etc. Your car being automatic its fairly safe to assume they are S4 cams. Its unlikely anyone would have installed GT cams into it in Japan but anything is possible.

Pitting on those pics do not look as bad as it could on worst case but is fairly advanced already. In my opinion they are right at point when they should be replaced.

Thats what bothered me and what I was thinking because I would hate to have a chip fall somewhere and cause some damage.

Man I spent my limit and there is no way I can spend 2 grand on new cams
928MS list some for $1960
I am guessing I can find a deal for half that but I hate to do cant afford to jobs

I have a set of near brand new looking S4 cams if you are interested. Time to start selling stuff to pay for the new transmission.

Let me know if you are interested

true, but then the Motor would have been an M28-47 though.
