Not blaming curb rash on wheels, just saying they ARE wider, so much easier to screw up. Certainly a factor to consider when thinking about 18's.

On the tire noise, just thinking that the fact that you can't rotate may cause certain tires to get noisy that wouldn't if they were rotated. Just a guess.....

I have original 26 year old shocks and springs.

18's look just right on a 928, you really have a lot of fender to fill . 19's look sick, i have a set of 18" 997 gt3 replicas on mine at the moment and every time i look at it the fenderwells, wonder if i need just a little more tire to fill them.

I don't think I'd ever go back to 17's, much less 16's after having had two sets of 18's.

I swapped from a D90 about three years ago to a NIB 997 Carrera III and never looked back. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 235/40 (N2) and 295/30 (N2). Factory Performance Suspension option. The off-sets for both front and rear wheels are exact fitments with no rub or need to roll the fenders. No speedometer recalibration requried either.

I have 18s on another car (Subie GT) with Bilsteins - all matched, great ride and handling. 215-45 Re050a Bridgestones. Curb rash is a big thing for me though - its so EASY to do - as soon as you have much lock on the tyre cushion goes right down. If I had had the option at purchase time, knowing what I do now, i would have gone for 17s. The 928 has M474 Bilsteins as stock, so I dont feel a ned to up the rim sizes.
Just my 2c.

Hi

Some before 16 and after 18 inch....

For Tyres I would recommend Falken 452s , assuming you can get them in Holland ...brilliant in the dry with Huge grip and good in the wet...

All the best Brett

Went with Continental Extremes 245/40ZR 18's on the front and 285/35ZR's in the rear, and mounted them on Fikse FM5's. 8.5" rims front, and 11.0" rims rear. These tires are the quietest of the pack according to Tire Rack, and are .9" taller than OEM in the rear and .6" taller than OEM in the front. The speedo might be off a tad, but the ride will be better with that extra sidewall. If your going to spend the $$, go with the 18's, they look great on the car. T

18" all the way. That's pretty much all you need on a 928 to make it look 15 years newer. And if the ride is too harsh, get new shocks.

I agree with Dan, you take a REALLY NICE and well kept 928 (and year!) and put 18" rims on it and folks will probably think the damn thing is new...

When Dan H (S4ordie) and Tony are finished with their cars those things not only will LOOK new, they will pretty much BE NEW!!! They are going to look FANTASTIC! Both of them!
