I'm visiting Chicago right now. Any 928 guys getting together anyplace to watch the game? Football and cars...does it get any better?

All of my peeps are in the 'burbs. Where specifically are you in Chicago?

Reporting in (almost) live from Titletown USA - getting ready for the game.

Yes, that's Lambeau Field in the background

I'm right downtown. I think I'm going to find a Packer's bar so I can cheer not against the Bears or for the Packers but against Jay Cutler.

I'm from Colorado and he really bashed Denver as a city when he left.

Should be a good game either way.

Rent a car, you could be here by kick-off

Try Kroll's if you're downtown. Though its pretty close to Soldier Field, consider it the southern branch of Kroll's in Green Bay and you'll be okay.

I think either Krolls or Will's Northwood Inn has been getting a lot of press and sounds like it will be completely crazy. I'm seeing lots of Green Bay jerseys in the hotel.

Don't keep talking about Kroll's, I so miss a butter burger at Kroll's west while watching the game...

GTG threads have always been an exception, even if it's one 928 owner looking for a drinking buddy

I'm lucky this place has WiFi.....

I'm in Pittsburgh, camped in a hotel with a mixture of fans of Steelers, Jets, and Pens. The Jets fans had to breakfast in the bar this morning, banished there by the black and gold crew. I may head down to the bar to watch the games, in neutral colors of course. I can always escape back upstairs. Nice suite with a bigscreen. The bar may be more amusing though.

K is a Chicago native, looking for a Bears win. My family has a mixed Ill and Wi heritage, with more still in Wi these days. I have no horse in the races, but still enjoy watching great football. Shows today should be at least as good as the SB matchups, whoever ends up there.

Ramping up the 928 content here...

I'm attempting to rebuild my '89GT motor. I have the engine out and am stripping it down. The timing belt slipped on the toothed pulleys and crashed all the valves.

I always checked the belt tension but did not look at the pulleys to make sure they were in good shape. Shame on me. Live and learn. I probably over-tensioned the belt also although I have the Jay (Kempf?) tensioning tool and it always indicated I was ok.

Anyway, the engine is out of the car and I took the intake off the other day. There is this incredibly thick black, sort of soft, goo that has coated the inside of the intake. Pretty nasty looking.

I can see alll of the intake valves are bent and imagine I will find the same on the exhaust side when I remove the heads. I plan on sending the block and heads off to someone that knows what they are doing to rebuild. Recomendations?

I would post pictures but they are alll on my camera back home. Remember I'm just the guy sitting in Chicago looking for a place to bash Cutler, talk cars and tip back a few...

Yup, one of the better play-off weekends in my memory.
