85 Euro Coil ground location
I am having a miss and been looking at my coil grounds and it seems both ground cables are missing does anyone know where the grounds are attached to the block and coil?

I don't have them on Euro 84 either. Been cleaning grounds all week (pelican thread) and didn't find them / not in the wiring diagrams either or any mention.
I know we bitch about them causing no starts for USA 32V cars, but am questioning that.
They just connect engine with the bracket on both sides. Maybe they are just for radio interference suppression on later cars?
There is a tech bulletin where a similar strap was added on the wiper motors to body, just for interference suppression.
Just a thought.

the coil wire ground goes from the coil bracket bolt to one of the bolts behind the rear timing cover on both sides this will tie in the ignition system check the other grounds on the right cam tower

Interesting. Not seeing it clearly in the wiring diagrams for 84 Euro, but that's ok. Just trying to learn.
Here's the scant, admittedly tangential, reference I had to the function of the wires for the 32V cars....
I'm going to try to start the 85 USA later today without the coil straps.

There are two grounds on the passenger side valve covers, one for each bank of injectors; if I remember correctly. There is a place to attach a bolt on the drivers side so I am going to run some grounds.
I can't seem to get rid of a miss maybe this will help!

Have you checked for vacuum leaks ? It should be in the low 20's at idle, I had a major leak from the brake booster that was causing rough idle and engine miss. Vacuum measured around 15 at idle before I replaced the brake booster.

Cam cover grounds are for all engine electronics and sensors including computers. They don't really split banks.
I've done same due to intermittent miss last week but haven't tried it yet.
