You have spoken, I have heard. This just might be the set-up ? Endplay, it's on the mechanicals to-do list. Car is still at Larry's paint & Body. T

Tony ... I don't understand what the rally badges are for ![Confused](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
I think the comments would be same no matter what car you were putting them on. They have no real relevance to the car visually or pratically .. other than they're German. We have that same space over here without bumperettes, and about the same width plates but not as high ... and I haven't seen anyone here having the overwhelming urge to fill the space.
Just my opinion.
Edit: Just saw your post ... "You have spoken, I have heard. This just might be the set-up ?"
... I think that's as good as you can get within the restrictions of your Texas plate format and style

Tony, I am kind of surprised that you did not hit upon what I consider the obvious solution to the bumperette delete. Did you ever wonder why we have the bumperettes? Why they are not on the European and other cars? I think that is because the rear bunper cover was designed for the much wider license plates for all those other places; so when they came here where we have smaller narrower plates they filled in the gaps with these rubber bumpers. (I doubt that they were mandated by any crash compliance regulations.)
Therefore the obvious solution to the delete, I think, is to change the shape of the recess for the license plate. The sides of the opening need to be moved inward toward the plate to a location that makes a pleasing recess without the extra space you are putting the badges in and then finishing off the openings that are left when you move the sides in. Follow Me?

I've stood and watched my 80 year old father-in-law back his Odyssey minivan into the back of his grandaughter's 928. Thank god it had bumperettes.

Already decided not use the badges as noted above (Post # 32) . Going with muted silver hood emblem and the Boyo back up camera. Thanks to all for your your input. T

BTW, my rear plates have NEVER brought unwanted attention or ANY attention for that matter. The lack of a front plate sure has though! Been pulled over for speeding and the lack of a front plate and they didn't give a rats rear about the rear plate... go figure! YMMV!

Tony, I know whatever you do it will look nice and will certainly not be confused with any other car on the planet! I look forward to seeing all your efforts in the flesh! So far so good! Gorgeous color and the application of it looks perfect too!

Incidentally, I do like the muted silver hood badge... go figure.
Jerry, I think the bumperettes were part of the extended "crash protection" for us here in the US (otherwise I am pretty sure Porsche would not have wasted the time creating them as a completely separate entity) and they certainly can help in the case of very small impacts like someone not paying attention and backing in to you. I just don't care for the look, but they do have purpose and can be a benefit.
