Can you post some pictures of the engine bay and the intake tubes?
There are actually 4 different sets of 16V tubes.
(The high-hp cars have the larger diam versions)
Lots of nuances in intakes between the various 16V cars.
Here's my attempt to summarize:
(one other note: don't substitute the L-jet barbed injectors into the Euro LH-Jet car. The impedance difference can fry the LH-jet computer per this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...rs-beware.html)

I also think that they used the smaller diameter intake tubes on the last of the euro 16V cars. It this is correct the reason would be that they needed intake tubes that would accept an electronic injector rather than the CIS injector, so they used the intake tubes they had been using for the US L jet cars. They probably felt that the smaller diameter would not have a big enough impact in performance to merit designing new tubes for these last couple of years of 16V production. And based on the published performace numbers, looks like they would have been right. It is possible that there could have been a 'using up stock' factor too, but then that might be the reason why they stuck with 16V motors for these years when the US cars were already 32V. Or perhaps it was just because the US 32V motors were still not making as much HP as the euro 16V cars.

Well, the intake runners look correct for the 85 Euro.
The throttle body number you mentioned doesn't make sense to me for a 928.
How could a MAF even be used on the car if it doesn't have the 84/5/6 Euro S throttle body and air guide?
What triggers your concern, Ray, about possibly having a small diameter throttle body? Maybe your car is has it and is ok?

What makes you think that is a US intake? That's the same part number on mine and I know for a fact it's a larger ID than my L-Jet runners.
There are so many subtle differences between the L-Jet and EuroS intake, I'm having a hard time believing any EuroS left the factory with a modified L-Jet setup.

Note that the numbers on parts are almost NEVER the Porsche part number.....casting numbers subassembly, supplier part numbers, but seldom the actual Porsche part number....

Ahh.
Well, the runners in the pictures match up to the "R".
Plus Hacker has them on a Euro.
And they are the exact intake tubes on Jadz928's 84 Euro which I just confirmed.
And they are totally different than the 84 USA L-jet tubes I'm looking at right now.
So maybe there is no problem!!!

well your info looks good and i thank you for that, it was pictures of larger intake tubes and Mark K talking of t/b's with an id of up to 3.5 inchs that really got me going and i will continue to look until i find out.If and i mean IF my car really makes 310 crank hp then imagine what the larger runners and t/b would do or maybe i am dreaming, i don't think so. thanks, Ray![popcorn](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/popcorn.gif)
