'91GT. Ever since I've had my car the spray from the windshield nozzles has been weak (and uhm, er, now that I think about, I'm asking about a friend's car
). I can clean them temporarily by putting some wire down the nozzle but within a very short period of time (like one or two uses) they're clogged again. Obviously whatever gunk I push back in just ends up clogging the nozzles again the next time they're used. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to unclip the nozzles from the hood to clean out the back side. Has anyone done this before with success? I could pull the hose off the nozzle from the back side but I don't know how I'd really force enough through from the top side to wash it all out. I guess a compressed air can tube-tip might fit on the nozzle and spray back with enough force to clean it out....
I've shied away from doing too much on the back side 'cause there's two small soldered wires there that I don't want to mess with.
Did a search and struck out--am I the only one with this problem?

Something for me to check out this winter as well...
Oh... and we should get together some day and let our '91 GT's play together... Good Luck!

The nozzles are easily loosened from the underside of the hood. A tab on the nozzle (IIRC towards the windshield side) keeps it locked to the hood. Press the tab towards the nozzle with a screwdriver and gently push up. Be careful not to clip the paint of the hood.

Thanks Aryan, I was able to find the tabs. Turns out it works best if you push on the nozzle itself instead of the tab (i.e push the nozzle towards the tab); the hole in the hood is keyed such that it pops out easier in this way.

I was able to pop them out, disconnect the hose and blow compressed air through the nozzles. I got a nice plug of tarry goo out of each side. All four nozzles are squirting great for now. Thanks for everyone's help.

You might also want to check the little valves in the windowshield washer fluid lines, burried in the hood, to make sure they are working ok and not clogged.
I had to replace the ones in my car with new ones. Cost is about $6-8 per valve. Now everything works great.
