Default Water pump rebuild

There is a guy on e-bay who sells parts to rebuild 928 water pumps. I guess there is some variation in the different pumps used. Has anyone tried this?

It really does not look like too much of a job if you have a good press and some patience. The parts are only $33 which is a huge savings.

This is the same person that was the rebuilder for 928 International and several others. It got to the point where the pieces were so unreliable that it was no longer practical to use the rebuilds.

If you have a "virgin" never been touched Porsche factory pump (one that hasn't been already rebuilt 3-4 times)...you could try it...see post #2.

No friggen way would I touch one.

That pump is the weak point in a properly maintained 928 timing belt system, you want the absolute best one you can buy, regardless of costs.
