Jim,
Was thinking about your wheel while driving my 928 today and thought
Classic 930, newer water cooled 911 owners may want this wheel as well, they would look great and I think they would fit.
My old friends that love all things Porsche not just 928s, all respect Phonedials as a classic Porsche wheel design. Think the market could be bigger for sure
Have you posted your wheel design for 911/944/968 and other model owners to see? Contacted Porsche Dealers?
They're so Porsche they'd look good on any new model imo.
Like a set for the Cayenne

Seems like they might work on late model Porsche's up to a point.
Uber modern Porsche's wheels are large now.... and 18" is passe.
It would be a real design stretch to make this design work on 19". But ya never know until you try, right? Falls into the long-term plan category.
Near-term... lets get these built and on some 928's!

Hello
Apart from funding perhaps ... What is the hardship in getting the project priced /prototyped
I work in bespoke electronic solutions and if someone came to us with an idea we would make sure we could at least do a feasibility study in order to let he prospective client knows
Where he stands
I should think anyone serious about producing your project should have a system in place
For pricing with pc sums in place , can you shed some light please

Jimbo,
I didn't have luck in the local Porsche dealership with my product.
Thinking about it, when you're ready, Excellence and Panorama are good.
I did well with a tiny 2"x2" black/white ad in Panorama. Taking orders over my cell. Never did Excellence.
Very nice real Porsche enthusiasts will call you out of Panorama though.
A lot (not all) of new Porsche owners are kind of tools and won't "get" your wheel.

All good thoughts. Plan to advertise in Excellece following a successful launch here on RL.
Got a word out to a friend at Excellence on this project, and hoping we can generate a little press. We will see.

One of the handy things about needing really high offsets to fit a 928, is that a high negative offset can be reduced down using spacers.
Boxster, Cayman, 997 and possibly (depending on weight rating) Panamera could all be interested and might not even need any spacers as they're all fairly high in stock offsets (ET57-59). 996 could use them with spacers to reduce the offset at the front to ET50.

Don't underestimate the market for 18" ones - 18" is still the standard size for Cayman, Boxster and Panamera. And of course the 997 and 996 used them.

Def not underestimating ths market for 18's. Actually a big fan (sampled many wheel sizes in my "wheel *****" days )
I have to admit, I struggle visualizing these on a modern Porsche. Probably a case of not seeing the forest thru the trees.
Thanks for the input!

Looks like the is a demand for other 70's wheels also:

Project Update - Prototype Pics
Had a great day today at Kevin Michael's shop, Neun Werke.
Picked up the painted prototype and was super pleased with the results, all around!
