Although I kind of like the bling factor the brass brings to the area.

And extra points for going to the bathroom and pulling one of the covers off just for me

A little brass era 'horseless carriage' touch.

I wish that my hands looked like that, web image.

Cheers to you Carl

Default ISIS power vs. Airbag?

Your project build quality and your attention to detail is truly inspiring and a joy-thriller to read!

Have you had the time to concider or yet discussed with ISISPOWER how the ISIS can/should be coupled with your 928's airbag system?

Looking forward to your next update!

Cheers
Knut

Hi Knut (is that Swedish, Norwegian or Danish ancestry?),

The airbag system will be wired pretty much exactly as stock. Part of my ISIS setup is a few fuse blocks in the center console area that will house fused connections (accessory, hot, ignition) and the airbag control unit will get its power from that area. Blue Sea systems have some really cool fuse blocks: https://www.bluesea.com/products/502...Cover/featured

I'm on the road at the moment so I don't have a chance to post pictures for a while, but will get some uploaded once I get a chance. Basically, the airbag system is completely independent of the ISIS system, other than the power is coming from one of the ISIS power cells in the cabin.

Cheers!
Carl

Is that spare going to fit over your calipers? Isn't the spare supposed to be red?

Hi Kevin,

That spare is from my previous 86.5, and it will not be used (won't fit GTS calipers either)....just ran out of room in the garage to put it anywhere else

I was going to wait and ask that question when he had completed the car. Right now still a lot of work left.

Kevin and Bilal,

I may just sell it, as I will never use it. It will be a while before I would be able to ship it though as I am in the middle of training. Earliest availability would be end of November. Let me check and see what a fair price would be.

Cheers!

Are we talking about selling the 928 or the spare wheel?

Hi Carl.
Its origin is one of them I guess (Scandinavia is a small place), but you're spot on with Norway for my sake.

Tnx for good input on the airbag and fuse boxes.

Safe trip home!

Hej Knut och tack. (Swedish ancestry on my part).

Are you contemplating installing it in your 928?

Cheers!

Hi Paul,

After my cup of coffee I reread it and you are right

BTW, I think you were looking for a double DIN setup? Alpine just released their Apple Carplay double-DIN receiver....looks nice and very similar to Pioneer's offering: http://appleinsider.com/articles/14/...-dash-receiver

Cheers!
