Which Factory Options Do You Miss
I wish my car had the following fitted, I'll probably find out there are even more that I didn't know about, oh well...
Heated seats
Adjustable lumbar
Cruise control
LSD
I haven't included Air Bags or Rear Screen Washer as they were't available on my MY.
Any examples of easily Retro-Fitting a Factory Option?

Sunroof delete (you get what I mean).
LSD (but why? I still want one though).
That's it. One of the benefits of an early car. Everything came as standard, even full hand-stitched leather.

79, 4.7 hi-comp engine, s4 suspension + brakes, 86.5 manifolds, crank scraper

Heated seats. Not much else missing on the GT.

I'm with you, Afshin... not much I would add to Perl other than heat.
Love sport seats but not practical for the passenger seat..
Sunroof delete looks good but I like the sunroof...
On Number Six, it really is the epitomy of non-option, and I like it that way.

factory alarm would be cool.
I have cruise, but it doesn't work. I wish it did, but I remember cruise control systems from the '70s and they weren't particularly good. So even if it did work I might not use it.

That's an interesting comment Jim regarding the practicality of sport seats for the passenger. After I added sport seats to my GT, my wife complained that she felt too constricted in them and they were difficult to get into and out of. My solution was to re-install the 8-way power "comfort" seat for her, while I still have the sport seat on my side. Now both of us are happy.

My car came with everything except the rear A/C option. Which I think isn't nessary even here in the Vegas heat, I've never had to use my A/C above the 3rd blower setting. BTW, it was converted to 134 by the PO.

It would be great news to know that my cruise is worth fixing. However I suspect that the one in your GTS is much different than the one in my '79. Do your comments apply to the OB units as well? Is mine vacuum or electronically controlled?

I wish mine had come from the factory with sport seats, but I've subsequently taken care of that myself.

Mine, too. I did leave it in there until after 3rd Coast - she wasn't on the trip and I wanted proper symmetry with so many eyes on it. May do this for future big events (OCIC, SITM, 3rd Coast) as well. There are only 6 bolts to remove and the power is plug 'n play. I can swap them out in under 30 minutes.
EDIT - The seat is still seeing consistent use, however:

I wish mine had heated 12 way sport seats, not sure they ever made that, and a telescopic steering wheel, that I am sure they never did.
The steering wheel telescoping is about the only thing I can not make the way i want.
I hope to have a full Paul C leather interior by the end of the year and it will get heaters and sport conversion.
Oh, and I have every thing to put a rear ac in mine, this will be done when i do the interior again.

One of my '87's has intermittent cruise which I'm pretty sure now is the actuator itself in need of a good cleaning, cable lube and re-grease (works on hot days, and exhibits "sticking cable" tendencies). Its on the list of things to get round to.
I do prefer the electronic cruise of my '89 - mainly because it just works. For the earlier cars, vacuum leaks from the reservoir and HVAC all affect the cruise, and the brains usually need re-flowing of solder.

Interesting seat comments...........my car came from the factory with 1 sport seat one comfort and both are heated but never used as its parked in the winter.
I'd have the sunroof delete and the rub strip delete.
After that then its a matter of personal likes; engine (GT) with the Roger box with '90 ratios and 2:54rear , digi dash with all the current updates (porkensioner, latest water pump, Constantine flex plate adapter etc etc)
