Porsche Hunchback, nice. hahaha...

Valet guys at Ruth Chis are great, they park my 1988 silver 928 S4 with the other "swank" cars - Aston Martins, Rolls, Ferraris, etc. - right at the entrance of the restaurant.

I never saw a photo of a Panamera from the rear 3/4 view. When I came out the door for my car, I mistook the Panamera for some wierd, new Saab station wagon or mini van. ...until I got around the side of it and saw the Porsche logo.... what a disappointment.

Geez, it just blew me away how big it was. Van-like big.

You guys kill me..... Any comparison to a 928 is just nuts! Granted, everyone is entitled to their opinions but, most of what I read about what people who A; have never driven one and B; are not in Porsche's target market is just plain laughable. Personally, I've lived with my Panamera 4S since May and can tell you it is a VERY impressive car. It will dust any stock 928 and most modern day sports sedans. 0-60 in 4.8 sec.... Handles like it's on rails and has an interior unlike any other car on the market.... Bar none! The only downside that I see is how much attention the car gets! It's almost to the point of being intrusive. I've had only one guy ever say anything negative about the car but he drove a biege Volvo so when you consider the source......

Is it a large car? You bet! It's a 4-door sports sedan! How big do you think it should be? Size of a Camry? My wife and I absolutely love ours!

That color is pretty much almost exactly like the later Iris blue on a 928. Park it next to an Iris blue GTS and take those pictures to compare.

Is it fast? Of course
Does it handle great? Of course
Is the interior great? Of course
Does it kick the pants off other sedans? Of course
Does it get attention? Surely (especially because of the color)
Could one "learn" to love it? I am sure

And yes, I have test driven one. No one is disputing any of the above... but does it look good? Not even comparing it to a 928, but to another 4-door sport sedan? No! And it makes me mad. Do you know why? Because I know that Porsche can do much much better in the design department.

Btw that floormat looks like it would fit perfectly in a 928

I'm with Chuck on the Panamera. I love it. I've seen a couple in person and to me it's an impressive car. You can't compare it to the 928. If I could afford it, that's the family car I would certainly buy. No doubt about it.

BTW Chuck that color of your Pan just draws people's attention to it. It's F'in BEAUTIFUL! The only colors I've seen in person are black and grey.

I must say, that color combo you put together is the absolute best looking Panamera I've seen yet. I haven't been shy to share my feelings on the rear styling, but as you most eloquently explained, from the pilots seats it's in a class of it's own. Which is all that really matters.

My only change would be some thin 5-spoke wheels. Then again, that style of wheel may not be strong enough to support all that weight.......
/oh I'm kidding

Thanks for the pix, Chuck. I like the color. And I think it looks great all opened up.

Styling ... I wish they had used a profile much closer to the 928 they did for Ferry. A roofline that starts its tumblehome much further to the rear and then a steeper drop to the bumper.

I'd like to see more pix of the black Panamera.

Car and Driver is making fun of the Panamera (inter alia) this month. But what I take away from their picture of a Panamera woody is that the car would benefit from a two-tone paint job, which would de-emphasize that ugly Kardashian booty.

I'm looking forward to my time with the Panamera. It has been growing on me since the first one I saw in person. Although I'm looking forward to the next generation when ever that will be. I think with a few tweeks it could really be a stunning car. The power platform is there from the numbers posted.

[QUOTE=Chuck Z;8119659 However, they can be a bit problematic... [/QUOTE]

I believe they call that 'personality' in Italy.

My wife is just dying to have one, keeps looking at them wistfully.

Panameras are totally fast and will pwn you on the highway. Bwaaaaaa factor is strong, and they are very luxurious to ride in. (Wasn't able to drive ..)

If you can afford it, it is a whole lot of car .. Its Beautiful in motion with the proper suspension/wheel package and the performance will make you love it..

Last edited by dcrasta; 12-09-2010 at 09:16 PM. Reason: Saw two on the highway on the way home from work today.. We had a little 3 lane sandwich with my 928 in the middle. Bwwaaaaa!
