Exclamation 928 Tech Session at Hennessy Porsche - Roswell, Ga. 2/12/11

The new date is Feb. 12th at 2:00. Let's hope for better weather this time.

I received notice this morning that the event will have to be postponed due to weather. The facility has been closed for three days due to the icy roads and they will be using Saturday as a regular work day to catch up with their schedule. I will advise as soon as a new date is set. Please spread the word to everyone you know who may be planning to attend.

The fine folks at Hennessy Porsche North Atlanta have invited us to a 928 tech session at their dealership on Mansell Road in Roswell, Ga. on Saturday, January 15th. This Porsche dealership has a service team that knows and appreciates the Porsche flagship 928. Jack Swint, Hennessy's Porsche Gold Meister Shop Foreman is a long time 928 owner and enthusiast. Mark Venti, the Gen. Mgr. and Jeff Corey, the Service Mgr. are looking forward to meeting us and our 928s.

Jack will be sharing some of his extensive knowledge of 928 maintenance and repair. Follow this thread for upcoming details of the tech session. Hennessy will provide something for us to munch on and perhaps a few other Porsche goodies. I'll be handing out a few treasures from the 928 OC as well as membership forms for anyone that would like to join.

Make plans to be at Hennessy Porsche, 990 Mansell Road Roswell, GA 30076 on Jan, 15th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. To see their lot below lined with 928s would be a beautiful thing.

Just curious, whose idea was this, yours or the dealership? Porsche has something planned for the Detroit auto show and wonder if dealers might warming up to the forgotten flagship. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Real cool.
Would be a long run from Richmond, but then again, doable.

That would make sense if there was going to be a new 928. Get the old owners interested. People see the "new" cars in the lot and wonder, hey can I get one. The dealer then says well that "new" car you see is 30 years old but it just happens Porsche is re-releasing a new version of that car coming out this year . . . . . .(sucking sounds ensue from wallet)

Default Be there

If our still dented and unrestored 928 is allowed we will put it on the Calender.
Ours runs GOOD and looks like hell.

The idea came from another local OC member who is also active in the PCA. He put me in contact with the guys at Hennessy and they were happy to oblige. I hope you can make it.

I'm looking forward to seeing both of you there. I really hope we can put together a good crowd for this to help remind Porsche that the 928 is still out there.

You guys could each put on a tech session of your own, maybe someday soon.
I'll see you there.
