Mike, thanks for the update! I guess my front springs and shock replacement start this weekend.

Bummer! As a 928 newbie 30 days into "the search" I was planning to learn a lot on Sat. as I live in Marietta. I was also hoping to drive one of these beasts so I would have some seat of the pants experience to use in evaluating the cars I'm dredging up for sale. I've owned(7) and raced(1) Porsche(s) for over 30 years but have completely missed out on 928s. Maybe its because a lot of people don't like them or are afraid of them. My porsche mechanic upon learning of my new found interest in 928s said simply-You better stay way way away from them. I've learned a lot quick thanks to Rennlist. Greg(Blown87) has fielded probably 30 pms, ems and phone calls and I am very grateful for his willingness to educate me. Thanks, Greg. Soooooo, if any of you guys want to meet I'll swap a drive in your 928 for a drive in my 72tRS spec and throw in a beverage. What do you say?

Looks like the new date will be February 5th. I'll confirm tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will be a bit more cooperative then.

If you want to meet me some place you are welcome to drive mine, but it does have a vibration right now and I need to get a rear alignment done after taking all of that off back there.

Your mechanic was just bitter probably because he could never adjust a 928 dual-disc clutch properly

Seriously though, my totally biased opinion would be to buy a sorted supercharged one

The new date has been set. Mark your calendars for February 12th at 2:00 PM . Hopefully the weather gods will be more 928 friendly this time around. Maybe we should all do the Pirtle 928 Timing Belt Dance to appease them and ensure fair weather.

Wish it wasn't snowy up here, I'd get the intake R&R done and drive down.

It's a pretty simple jig. According to John Pirtle's site here "With timing-belt in hand high above head, do the 928 Victory Dance. "

Sounds like a fun event - I think IB should fly me down there to supervise......

Sticking until after the event.
