I agree about stock, especially club sports, D90s and phone dials. The flat wheels to me make the car look old and boring. Good wheels too of course.
Wow!
Those wheels!!

Who makes those?

Hey I event went to frenzy without washing my car!! I got mine when my daughter was -6 months old - yeah, my wife was three months pregnant.

If you can hold on to it, do. Slap a cover on it and store it for awhile out of sight. When it returns you'll just smile!

930 dude - yeah this example might be too nice!! I've got three dogs and a kiddo, so everything gets extra wear. My '87 is in that perfect nice but drive the crap out of it condition.

Carl,

First, I'm delighted with the addition to the family, and all that will mean for you both over the next many years (lots of joy and fun, some frustration and dismay!!!). Congratulations.

Second, I'm sad to see you've decided that this car needs to leave the family. BUT - the time will come (and it will seem like about 1.5 years by the time the child is graduating from high school) when you'll be back in the high performance/high concours condition car again. It may be a 928 S4, it may be a 928 GTS, it may be some other Porsche or even more exotic car. Just hang in there and enjoy the times with your family.

I had a few interesting cars before my kids came along, and when they were young - then had a Honda and a MB diesel when the kids cash flow needs exceeded my car budget. Now they are mature and self sufficient, and I can appreciate the great cars I'm able to drive even more, (and even enjoy sharing them with my grandchildren!!).

Good Luck with the sale. The buyer is going to get a GREAT example of a 928 that has been well cared for and meticulously maintained.

Carl, you clearly have your priorities straight. Serve your family before yourself. That said, the thought of letting that car go has to be a tough one.
I've always admired your car and what you've done to it. We all missed you at Frenzy this year. Hopefully we'll still see you around.
For those who haven't seen this car in person, pictures don't do it justice.
Carl has really set it up nicely, and his meticulous standards are immediately apparent when you go through the car in closer detail.
Ask anyone who's seen this car within a group of 928s. It stands out as one of the nicest cars in the bunch, bar none.
The paint is beautiful, and truly a top-notch finish. The wheels work with the car as though they were custom made for it. Wait, they were custom made for it, right?
This car is so nice and tastefully set-up that $20k is a hell of a deal for someone.

this car should be worth at least $25000.00 or more where i live because we don't have that many here in Victoria, very rare with the condition of the car, service and upgrade history.

Both of you guys are right, and I'm a bit speechless too.

I'm getting nervous, someone's coming friday to see the car. I was of course hoping that nobody wanted it so it would stay with me a bit longer.

David: nobody has a nicer 928 than yours, unless you prefer midnight blue. The red '93 is really something.

Plus One, Nicole!
What AO said...
Hey, didn't you tell me $25K was you "pry it from my cold dead hands" price anyway? I'm pretty sure you told me that at BSP.
