We are still selling our "aftermarket" regulators.
We have discontinued selling dampers until we have time to solve a technical issue.
We are currently using stock dampers, from Porsche, on the vehicles we repair.
And indeed, these dampers are a bit pricey, even when considering where they come from.

The stock items are outrageously expensive at around US$600 per item these days. GB does an alternative setup but as I recall he has temporarily pulled them due to some quality control concerns he has. Roger [928srus.com] also has some after market options as I recall.
I went under the hood today to start investigating the FPR and dampers, so removed the air intake pipes. I was fiddling around making sure everything was tight, and randomly found that one of the ignition cable plugs on the distributor was not pushed down all the way. It was raised enough that it had a good 'click' my push. So before I went any further, I went through all my tests again - full load with A/C on and all headlights on, both cold and warm. No more engine idle surge. Was that just co-incidence? Or would a loose lead make a difference to idle? I took it for a good drive for an hour, and returned and checked idle again. No surging, and very stable with only slight drop of the needle upon load. So I am not going to play around with the fuel system until the symptoms show again

P.S. the engine never felt like it was running rough or only on 7.
