Did anyone else notice that they never mentioned the make or model of the car during the entire show? They had the PORSCHE lettering on the rear bumper cover covered by tape and the hood badge removed. They only refered to it as a sports car or retro racer.

I thought it was one of those hidden images that appear if you stare at it long enough. Nothing happened! Doh.

The thing that struck me, other than my disappointment that they did not just unbolt the body and lift it up (and show us us how to do it), was the abysmally casual and unscientific nature of their tests. No mention of ride height, angle of attack, frontal area, spoilers, etc, etc.
Those where the car was being driven were ridiculous in their approach to the idea of controlled experimentation - it was like they were struggling to introduce as many variables as possible, even on the coastdown.
The only ones that were at least _repeatable_ were the first two, on the model. Not to mention they showed the same result they finally arrived at. They could have saved a bunch of $$$ and a Euro with a decent interior.
I wonder what happened to the parts?

They have to. If it matters, they do that with everything, even camera and data equipment that nobody would know / care what brand it is. And how many times have you seen their shirts covered in tape or blurred out? I find it annoying, but that's the sad state of television in America.

I always figured they did that because they'd been declined when they asked for product placement $$$. Not because they didn't care to give free advertising to entity x.

I think they just don't want to spend the money on the lawyers, so they default to absolutely zero product placement concerns and protect themselves from lawsuits by just covering everything!
