Young man, do not start off down the 928 road doing things half way, do it all and to the best of your ability and your 928 will not let you down, do it half fast and it will be problems.

Trust me on this, do the wiring and feel better about the car and yourself when you are done.

Every one here will help you.

Really? I am surprised to hear that. Way down on the list of things to do in any case, but more interesting if the visability is not reduced.

Mine came with them already installed. I f you park two nearly identical red s4's next to eachother, one with and one without, first thing you notice is the gts mirror car looks wider but you don't know why. The updated mirrors change the lines significantly - in a good way!

Yes, everything works in my car, or did, my hvac's outside air temp took a crap this week, so it has one issue right now.

I did this on my wifes '82 and think its a GREAT mod to teh car. I have zero issues with visibility with them, and I didn't time myself, but I think I had maybe an hour into documenting/writing up the wiring diagram, maybe another 25 minutes in actually doing the wiring and no more than 15 minutes total assembling both mirrors and mounting them. And yes, they work fine.

One trick on the gaskets is to warm them with a heat gun to make them softer, they go in super easy that way.

It took two, 25 plus years pro mechanics over 6 hours to get one of mine on, we used heat, hot water, tape, glue, really filthy words, nothing easy about the gaskets we had.
I have done used ones and they just fell on.

I just picked up my GTS mirrors today (had em shipped to mom/dad's to hide from the wife)!I got them from Garrity at Motorsports, they painted them and provide a plug and play wiring adaptor for my '86. I'm hoping for a painless install I'll let you know how it goes. They are ,I think, the single best improvement to the older 928s. The paint on the mirrors is fantastic!!! the color match is very close (compared to the 25 year old) it means I'm gonna have to think paint job. Can't look at the pretty mirrors with the old car... maybe one day I'll totally "finish" my car. NAHHH! Brian
