If you can take it to Greg's shop on the weekend, I'll follow you there and bring you back home. Let your wife and the little ones stay home.

AAA membership was a great idea. You would not have to be at the shop it's at currently when it's picked up, nor at Greg's when it's dropped off. That first part is taking a chance without supervision, I know, but you could install the tow hook before the rollback arrives. As for traffic, neither you nor a tow truck has to make the trip during the business day.

Greyhound for the return? Or negotiate with a cabbie for a set fee? Maybe you'll get lucky a Greg can fix it while U wait?

Or you can try to find a tow driver who's based near you and get a ride back with him part way, or pay him extra to bring you back.

Or rely on Mike - this is a great community!

the part that needs modification is the master cylinder piston. The tip of it get trimmed down about 4 to 5 mm and then resltted, then the spring also gets trimmed about 2 winds so underf ull compression it wont shatter

the SLAVE will work as a slave , its fine the way it is

Thanks again guy's! Mike I sent you a PM. We could have lunch.

She will be back on the road in no time! Actually my wife is being really cool. I think she is happy knowing that the car is going to someone that knows their stuff!

Rent a car for a few days - no brainer.

$25 a day for an econobox and you save your wife having to schlep you all over.

Want to give out a special big THANKS to Mike! It was a blast meeting you yesterday and going for a drive! Your white S4 is beautiful! Lunch was fun but I started coming down with what my wife has so I am a little under the weather.

Another big thanks to Greg for taking on my car as he will be working on it when he has time to help me out. If you haven't meet Greg or been to his shop, it is a lot of fun talking with him as he is a true car guy!

Thanks again guy's, your the best!

I honestly don't think it's possible to run a 928 with no money, unless you do the work yourself. Even then it's not easy, but at least then you can pace yourself. Paying someone else means you lose control, and eventually it will break you. If Greg is taking this on in part as a favour, then he is very generous, as that is his livelihood, and you have just used up a very big chunk of goodwill.

It isn't that I have no money. I will probably spend 5 to 6k on my car this year and every year to follow. I just blew a grand of that and the car does not work so Greg will sort it out. I am paying him for his time. Sometime these things happen when you get lean with money.

So far this yr I have done a a/c delco conversion, TB and WP, 85 euro cams, electric fan, new tires, 500watt amp and speakers, painted the car, fuel pump, fuel accumulator, fuel lines, cap and roto and plugs and now master clutch, slave and Master brake.

I have already done some work on my car and will continue to take more chances and venture into other things.

Jeez. I'm putting brakes, tires, wear-parts and plug wires on them. And not thrashing them. Zero cosmetics, zero acoustics. (Well, rob budd carpet in one due to mothballs on the original carpet.) They get more solid everyday. Maybe its time to reevaluate priorities.

Stephan is learning to do things for himself, it just sucks that he spent all that money for nothing.

They may have gotten very close to getting it right or they may be miles away, we just do not know yet.

He knows that it is going to cost some money with out a doubt, but when people are willing to work with me as far as time is concerned then I can, and do give them a break some times.

I have done this for others here, if they want to chime in so be it, I am not going to bring them into this.

The main thing is to get to the bottom of what is going on with his car, he has at least two issues going on.

Landseer I agrre with you 100 percent. I thought I had things well sorted but I was wrong. The list get's long and I have done a fair amount so far. I am happy that I have someone like Greg in my corner. I am sure he will see other things that will need to be fixed so I will be able to put together a game plan. It's all good, a little here a litlle there and 5 yrs down the road the car will have come a long way. I realize there will be issues that will be unexpected and instead of doing somethings I should set something aside for the unknown!

You're welcome, Stephen. It was a good day. I met a new local 928er, got to see my buddy Greg and spent some quality time behind the wheel. Thanks, Saudi is a special one.
I hope the problem with your car is minor. You'll have an opportunity to make a deposit in the 928 karma bank when we get the torque tube for Jack's car. An extra set of hands always helps with that job and it will be a good learning experience for you.

Mike That would be awesome. I would love to help and possibly learn something along the way! Let me know when you need me, nights, weekends and I will be there! Maybe when you are not looking I will grab that red interior!
