The spacer with adhesive on one side only goes on top, non-adhesive side down. It sticks to the bottom spacer that has adhesive on both sides. You put the top spacer adhesive side up. Got it?

Sean,

you should have 3 spacers in the kit. One with adhesive on both faces, and two with on side adhesive.

The first few kits that went out only had 2 spacers, but I decided to add a third just in case.

If you are missing one, let me know and I will drop one in the mail

Got three, the one that I assumed had sticky on both sides didn't. Hence the reason I asked. I can peel the plastic off, but it isn't sticky, actually looks like my counter top.

Other side is sticky though.

Don't know what happened there, because that is indeed the adhesive protector.

Email me an address and I will send you another. The faster way would be to contact cement the naked side of 2 spacers together. That will give you a double with adhesive on both sides.

Don't forget to cut a sliver from the top pins that stick out over the spacers. And do the small recess on the right side hole.

And thanks for your help on the wiring.

No problem Paul, I've got enough adhesive stuff here to glue a house together. I just wanted to keep you updated on the install, hence my question.

Thanks a bunch.

Sean,

BTW, that button should still be active even though there is no icon for the dead spot (there should be a spare flying lead for that switch from the in-line module (Pin4 in this instance). So, you could configure a "stealth" function at some time in the future.

Thanks again,
Hans

The factory door switches used left door icons, as viewed from the driver seat.

Looks like you have the new left and right door icons on the wrong sides of the switch plate?

^^^ I think you can order custom icons for any switch.

What color is that Sean?

Is there light bleed on the edge?

Hans and Paul,
This has been a great project to follow. Thanks for giving us this transparency.
This has turned into a great product, and I hope you have many satisfied clients.
I hope to be one of them.

Mirrored passenger door icons are one of the many options available. That one was/is very popular

I think the small light bleed probably comes from the fiber optic tail. The panel could be shifted to the right a little bit, which would alleviate it.

And thank you

Don't know what the color is, I'd call it orange. Yes, there is a bit of bleed from the corner because the panel is not seated yet. I have not put any adhesive to do so.

Borland, that is just a tad bit ****. lol

Sean,

from what I see, since you used the factory bezel, you could probably only use one spacer. That will bring the panel down a bit and close the gap.

If you need a single spacer with double adhesive, let me know.

I added the belzel, used one spacer plus the double adhesive one. When it is pressed down in to position, it is perfectly flat with the top of the bezel. I really like the look.

I will leave it as is until Rog see's it and gives me his opinion on how he wants it to fit. Then it will be set in place.

This is a real easy install for the '90 plus cars, plug in a few wires, find where you want things to set and boom, neat and quick.

I've got an '88 and am afraid it won't be as simple, but will post when I order one and get to installing it.

Sean, the '88 will be much easier.
