Did you say the Kinks are helping you install yours? Man I feel totally hosed...I only got Jim W! I'd love to have the Kinks here helping out...they could supply some tunes when we finished!

Mine arrived all safe & sound....thanks Paul and Hans!

I won't be installing it for a little while yet as I'm waiting on the bezel to come with some exhaust bits from Roger...so if I have any questions hopefully they'll be answered by others before then...

Mine looks great too! I haven't started the install yet, but I think I have the connections figured out (I'm making mu own harness). One question: the picture of the harness in the pre-89 instructions shows a mini-relay in the wiper portion. What's it for and do I need to include one?

Hey Mike,

your relay should be in the same small bag with your panel, your LED and your spacers.
If it's not there, drop me an email and I will send you another one.

Elmiko,

The guide was updated yesterday with detailed instructions on assembling a harness for the pre-90 cars, including how to wire the relay. Make sure you have a copy of the most recent directions, as that will help you assemble your own harness much more quickly.

Still looking into the issues reported by the 90+ owners. Brought diagnostic equipment into the office today, and going to be trying to tone out the board for errors in between meetings.

Thanks
Hans

Hans, newest test is complete and results are in your PM box. I was not expecting what happened to happen. Neato.

If there's anyone in the San Diego area that has a '89 or older kit that needs help, let me know. My installation went smoothly & I'd be happy to help out.

Update. 1990 plus

After I fixed the issue with the passenger side window (regulator was stuck) everything works as it should.

Ensure you are using the red/green wire on the drivers side.

Take the double black out of the passenger side window plug and put it to switchable power. I used the rear wiper chassis side since this car has had the rear wiper delete. Once things were hooked up, everything works as it should in the kit.

YAY! Thank you so much for your help, Sean. I really appreciate it.

Thanks also to all the others who have been very understanding of the issue. Of not, I should say thanks to Jim Willman for first bringing the issue to my attention, and running through some of the early diagnostics. Also to Donald for his help and feedback last night.

I will edit my instructions, and make sure they are posted ASAP.

Thanks,
Hans

Dumb question. Shouldn't one of the spacers have come with adhesive on both sides? So that it will stick to the console and to the switch panel holding it in place?
