Default 1984 928S VS 1968 Chevelle big block

My friend wants to drag race me once he finishes his big block 396 Chevelle.
Motor is punched 30 over and should produce ~450hp. He has a 4 spd trans with 4.10:1 rear end. Car weighs 3600 lbs. I have a US 928S, bone stock. He is convinced that I bought a "slow Porsche" and wants to prove to me that American Muscle is better. I want to defend the Porsche name and prove him wrong, do I have a chance?

Joke right?

If not, make sure there is a few 90 degree turns in the middle of this drag race, you still might lose, but it will be fun to watch.

No joke, and I think I will have to do a follow up race on a really curvy road somewhere to show him that his car can't corner. This drag race might not happen for a few months, but it sure will be interesting.

BTW is there any way to tweak spark timing/air/fuel to give me a few extra hp? Obviously fuel economy is not important.

Bone stock VS. bone stock or modified VS. modified, That is even competition.

Rolling start, 5 mile race. Even at 100 in third, roll together from there. He'll run out of legs before you hit 4th. Performance is measured in lots of ways. Big numbers on the Autobahn is one of my personal favorites. Your car is better than his.

I used to own a chevelle and the answer is NO you don't have a chance.
Make the race a 0-60, then back to 0, then you'll kill him.

His theoretical top speed is somewhere around 100. I also like the idea of 0-60-0 race. His brakes are stock

As a owner of a 70 SS 454 Chevelle for almost 30 years and now its current keeper, all I can say is you are kidding yourself if you think it will top out at 100.
I had a built motor, way to much to list here, but with a 4.33 gear it would run well over 130 before hitting the chip.

If he has any kind of tires on it he will just chrush you in any acceleration contest, just make sure you are not in front or beside of him when tries to stop with stock 4 wheel drums, gonna take a while.

A hard corner, like trying to park at a Waffle House will likely be close to the limits of adhesion on a 68 Chevelle, just be careful around this car while it is moving, that is all I am trying to say.
