becker navi speed pulse input 86.5
Installed a Becker High Speed navi unit in my 86.5 which works perfect.
However for the navi to work correctly it needs a speed pulse.
Did some searching and found there is a good source at the cruise-control 'brain'
Can anyone point me in the right direction where to find the cruise control unit?
Preferably with pin-out for the unit as well, because the cruise control is the only electric thing not working on my 928 and I would like to find the cause of the failure while I'm at it.
Cheers.

In my 89 the cruise control is under the center console towards to firewall, to be accessed by taking off the passenger side panel.
By looking at the wiring diagram of the 86 model, pin nr 11 (brown/red wire) is the speed signal.
You will need a reverse pulse as well. Is yours an automatic or a manual? If an automatic I think the reverse signal is U21 on the central electric panel or otherwise U24. If a manual, use the black/blue wire from the reverse switch on the transmission.
Please check with a voltmeter first before connecting the navi.
Btw I have a Traffic High Speed Pro installed as well. Ordered a 3 meter GPS antennae, hid this under the carpet in the rear hatch. Works perfectly.

Perhaps the easiest place to get speed impulses on your '86 is on the brown/red stripe wire in Terminal K22. This is the second wire up on the right side of Plug K. Plugs are alpha left to right, with no "I" plug. They are identified. The plug terminals are arranged:
15 25
14 24
13 23
12 22
11 21
15 25
14 24
13 23
12 22
11 21

Thanks for all the feedback.
I have a reasonable experience with automotive electrics, so will off course check with voltmeter first :-)
@ WallyP, what do you mean with Terminal K22? Is this on the CE panel?
Thanks

You can re-flow the solder and it should work again. This is a fairly common issue.

Ya know-the problem with this forum is that no one has any detailed knowledge of these cars--just kidding!
Seriously--this thread just blew me away--the knowledge here is quite remarkable and it's one of the reasons I am a member and will be a 928 owner for a long time (even if I decide to sell the current car--I will still get another).

Seriously,
I love it when someone posts a pic of one thing and six guys chime in on something the original poster didn't even see, from condition of hoses, to locations and conditions of belts to what kind of driveway sealer they should use.
It's my favorite place to hang out.

Early cruise plug ('86.5), speedo logging wire shown. (I used 0.062" Molex terminals covered in heat shrink for a disconnect.)

SUPER!
Thanks
Now all I need is a pinout and/or wiring diagram for the cruisecontrol unit, so I can hopefully get that to work as well!
Big big thanks

Manager to get the navi to work! Also fixed the central warning light which was "professionally" repaired by the PO.
Will start with installing the new clifford avantguard tomorrow.
Also noticed that the vacuum solenoid thingy for the hvac behind the large outlet in the centet console was disconneced, and vacuum line was plugged, orange line.
Does anyone know what exactly is controlled by this valve, heater and ac seem to work properly.
Cheers

If the PO plugged it, it might be that the vacum actuator is leaking vacum, and this 'fixed the problem'..the problem being the leak, not the loss of flap adjustment.
