Default Out with the Corvette, in with a 928!

Hello all,

I'm letting my Corvette go on Friday and will be looking very seriously at a car that is for sale by a fellow rennlister. It's not listed on the site, so I'll let him chime in when he feels like it.

It's an '86.5 that used to have some nice upgrades, but was pretty neglected as far as the paint and interior go. It's got some good work going into the car now, and will have a much better lease on life once I'm ready to take delivery.

I'm hoping that once the things start getting done I can put a few pictures up to show a before and after sort of thing. I'm REALLY looking forward to getting another 928. It's been WAY to long! I guess I need to pay for the 928 OC membership and the rennlist one also once it's here!

Jon

It's me! I'll try to post photos as the work progresses. I will be getting started early next week. You won't be disappointed, Jon!

I'm sure I'll miss it to an extent, but lately I've been a guy with a corvette and NOT a corvette guy. The last PCA event we attended really drove that point home.

You're going to miss your Corvette like you miss that brown pair of lace up shoes you had when you were eight.

The 928 will be a completely different ownership experience.

I actually prefer my Corvette for driving around town, the steering effort is much lighter, it is quicker than my 928, I do not worry as much about it in parking lots.

I know how you feel. Had an 80 928S Euro 15 years ago that was totaled. (other person fault of course) Had a 63, 67, 79, 87, 03 & 08 Corvettes. Now have a 94 GTS and just love it. Check out the Austin 928 Club. Great group of Thugs! Welcome back to "The Madness" T

Dan and Tony, Jon is my surrogate son and not only has he had an '85 of his own he has vicariously lived through all my 928's and I think driven all but the '82 and the race car...actually, he might have driven the race car in the 'hood at one point or another.

He has/had a FRC C5 from '99 I think it is...

Wow, the Vette looks very nice, and how can you compare a 08 car with a 86? But getting a S3 is a treat. If u get the Porken chip and the Ott exhaust mods I think you will be wearing a big ole smile (Different than the Vette smile, but a good one).

Anyway, welcome to the insane asylum and best of luck with your transaction!

^^^^^
You have them confused... The former owner of the '08 C6 now has a '94 GTS that he is completely redoing...

The new owner of the 86.5 had the '99 FRC C5.
