When I said later models, I meant S4. I'm not up on the earlier set ups.

posting the year of the car makes a difference on what type of ignition system is used
PJG posted a great little piece of info you should be able to figure things out from that.
Note the cap that JF posted is missing its black grounding cover,
this part must be fitted to assure errant ignition pulses are not sent to other parts or the OP
