Default 928 Estate racing in Chumpcar 2011!!!!

After a brief retirement from "crap can" racing in early 2010....the 928 "Estate" will be back in 2011! Chumpcar just released their 2011 schedule and there are 5 California-ish races on the schedule!!! Chumpcar is more about racing and less of a circus compared to Lemons...the rules and punishments are much more fair too

The next race is at Thunderhill Fed 5-6 for a double 7 hour enduro! This is the standard format of a 7 hour race each day, each scored individually....however they do have 14 hour and 24 hour races too.... There is a true 24 hour race at Willow Springs in April too! It is possible to WIN $750 PER DAY!!!! Thats what 1st place gets and it pays down to 3rd!

I am optimistic our 928 racing veteran driver lineup remains the same.... As I am quickly becoming the LEAST experienced guy on the team

With the Marks, me and Sean driving + our veteran pit crew (previous winner crew) I think we have a good chance at a high finish with a bit of luck!

I am hoping we can get a good turnout of 928ers to cheer us on!!! We had great turnouts at the last two races!!!

I like the fun of the LeMons format but it would be great to have something a bit less silly with a tad more emphasis on racing. This sounds like a better fit for the capable Estate racer and crew.

If the weather holds, I'll fly up for a day, I can take two reasonably sized adults with me...as I am a tad over reasonably sized.

Say..Sat the 5th, leave San Jose at 7a, get back around...10p after dinner up Willows way?

3-3.5hr drive each way, 1:15 flight, share costs plz. (Aint that much)

When I read the front fender.....driver names. Can not help but say it looks like it is being driven by a bunch of Dicks ! Much better rules in the Chumpcar series no chance they would decide to CRUSH your car. Willow Springs is Anderson's home track that would be fun to watch ! He is really fast there, really fast.

fuel stops are mandatory 5 minutes....non fuel stops are as fast as you can get it done.... All fueling MUST come from approved 5 gallon jugs...no rigs allowed... Fuel rigs DO make a big difference in Lemons racing and all the top teams use them....some are safe.....some not as much!!

I think its limited to 24 gallons max (lemons is).....so our 22.7 is about perfect....

Chumpcar does limit driver stints to 2 hours max....and the 928 can go over 2.5 hours on a full tank and right at 2 hours after that....

Willows, CA/Thunderhill, not Willow Springs Raceway.
