Not to go to far off topic. But I would be curious to hear your comparisions on your GTS to your old 80 Euro. Such as weight and handling

Cool

Sean, It's looking like the Fikse FM5's will do the trick. Greg, Staying with the stock ratio rear at this time. JP, The 80 Euro had no sunroof which allowed much more headroom. Loved the pascha cloth seats, the color was great both in and out, and it ran superb. Unfortunately the 80 928 was totaled. I believe we would still have that 928 if not for that accident. The only thing that I would have changed is going from a three to a four speed auto trans. This 928 was the reason I bought the 94 GTS. We were up in CT visiting family & friends recently and asked a buddy of mine who now drives a newer 993, what his favorite cars of all time were. He said they were his 82 & 87 928's. I asked myself the same question and the hunt was on. This is the car that we plan to mildy & tastetfully customize to our likes. We do plan on keeping this 928 for a long time, and that's why we are putting a lot of time, effort and money into it. Attached is the only photo of the 80 Euro. Sorry, the pic is scanned from an old Poloroid. T

Just a word of caution on those Corbeau A4s that you got from your buddy. I am 6.0' and 175lbs and have the exact black color pair in my daily driver (not a 928, but been driving with Corbeaus every day for 4years), these seats are not what I would recommend for the following reasons:

Disadvantages:
1) Definitely NOT designed for any type of long distance driving, they are lightweight racing seats with minimal support and thinly padded, if you only drive your 928 in a 15mile radius, then not bad. Sitting in them over an 1hr, your body will ache and you WILL feel the effects of being in them for this duration.

2) They are cheaply made, the plastic hoops for harnesses in the head rests will crack and fall out over time. The fabric will come away from the bolsters very quickly due to being made quite cheaply. If you do not drive your 928 regularly, it will be a long time before this materializes, but it will happen. Corbeau offer a 1 yr warranty for these defects.

3) Extremely difficult to keep clean, especially the black fabric, if you get pet hair, human hair or just lint in the fabric the ONLY option to remove it or clean them is to pick it out with your fingers, you will not be able to vacuum the seats with any success. I even bought a special brush for the seat fabric, and did not work, well it worked well in spreading the mess around to a larger area..laughing.

Advantages:
1) Very light...vey light...very light...26lbs per seat.

2) Looks aggressive and impressive to friends and neighbors, although on a 928 GT-S, I would be like most not so sure it compliments such a sexy beast.

BTW...I have owned Corbeau A4s in three differents cars of which I still own two of those cars.

Tony,

This group is VERY bad about following mom's rule and keeping it to themselves. I am guilty too of that and apologize to you for my poor contribution to this thread...

1) 80% of our trips are to Rockport C.C. and back-about 5 miles each way. Some mid range cruising about once a week. Maybe 3-4 trips top The Hil Country-about 200 miles each way. 2) Car will not be tracked, no harnesses needed. 3) I ordered the mesh fabric-better than the suede fabric Corbeau offers, also did not want leather. The apology was nice, but no need, I am thick skinned and treat criticism as another form of attention! T

Hey Tony,

when you come to the shop, I will be able to show you some alternative that can be ultra comfortable and more in line with the design of the 928.

I am 100% on the side of "you do what you want with you own car", I'm the guy with a whole lot of Ostrich in my own 928. But I see it as my responsibility to point out the alternatives

Tony,

I just put Conti Extreme Contact DW's on my '92 GTS a month or so ago. I have been very happy with them so far. Mine are on stock 17" wheels though. Hope you are happy with yours as I am with mine.

And if you don't want to get shot at, don't put your head out of the trench! - if your going to put up a thread showing people your latest and greatest idea then some contrary opinions may have been expected.

This should put some of you purists over the top. Both the Kicker Mono amp (sub) & 2ch amp (fr seperates) have end caps to hide all wires. You can also choose "skins" from www.kicker.com/ix_amplifiers Pretty neat way to dress up the amps and clean up those pesky wires, rca cables, etc. Fired up the system today, and let me say, it does not sound stock ! The amps do look a little bright in the pics below. That's caused by camera flash-the pics were taken at night. Also mounted a sub level control for the sub out of plain sight. Comes in handy when the driver wants to bump it up a notch when detecting negative criticism from the passenger. Wish I had this feature on Rennlist at times, hmmm. T

Default Pics attached

The camera flash lit up the amp skins a bit to much. T

Sorry. Those seats are JUST WRONG for the character and soul of your car.
There are so many other beautiful seats out there that would fit your dimensions comfortably.
You are not driving a stockcar nor dragster.

Of course it's what makes you happy. Your dollars too.
Why not a close replacement of the stock seats?- They're perfect.
I'm sorry, but unless it were a track vehicle it would be like putting a big swastika on your hood with a v-2 rocket above it showing that it's fast and serious. Sort of comparable to the trans-am fire chicken on the hood.
Anyway, you have a beautiful car and I am envious. I am nobody to change your style.

I would find some manual sports seats, 2 inches shorter with about the same comfort level as the normal 928 seats.
