The OEM seats are being moved to a cool, dry, dark place. Each OEM seat comes out with 4 bolts , and in 5 minutes can easily be reinstalled. Relax, take a deep breath, count to 10, and as my wife would say: "Get over it". As I have said earlier on this thread-I e-mailed the Sparco Co twice requesting more info on their seats, and they did not get back to me. Guess they don't need my business. T

Take from someone who has modded the crap out of his 928.... do what you want to to your tastes........ some people will like it and others won't... take it for a grain of salt....its your car and you can't please everyone so just please yourself and have it your way....
I am in that crowd.
I do not buy cars or build cars with the thought of what I can get out of them, only for the enjoyment they will give me until I am done with them.

I'm with Rob (and Tony) on this. My car has had the rear wiper deleted, the headlight washers deleted, the rear seats deleted, tire pressure monitor system deleted, the stock 3rd brake light deleted, the coin box deleted, the steering wheel airbag is deleted. The shocks, springs, sway bars, drop links, cam belt tensioner, injectors, cams and the complete exhaust system from the manifolds back has been changed (improved over stock). My sport seats are out of an 86, the front turn and side marker lenses are not stock and every piece of the audio system is non-stock, the inside rear view mirror is different and I have aftermarket wheels with different rear brakes and brake bias valve. (and I'm sure I'm forgetting some things.)
Do you know what else, I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks, I'm very happy with the final version. I make changes for me not for the masses or the next buyer. Besides, I haven't decided yet, but I may be buried in this car.

LOL! Jim you are a bad bad man!
Tony you are doing it the right way for a GTS. Make everything reversible. If any 928 is ever going to be worth more than what the current (note I didn't say FIRST) owner paid for it that will be a GTS or maybe a very early car.
As noted so few GTS's were imported seeing one modded is hard for some to handle, S4's on the other hand are MUCH cheaper and much much more abundent so folks tend to have less problem seeing them altered (Dan and Sterling taking that to a tasteful extreme IMHO).
Good luck and I cant wait to see how it all turns out!

Tony,
I agree wholeheartedly with you. Everyone needs to get over it. It is your car...enjoy.
I would love to have a GTS instead of (as well as ) my 86.5, and if I did, I would make it the car I wanted it to be to fit me (probably to the extent that my bank account would allow). So I say, Rock on!! It's your car do what you want to and enjoy the heck out of it while you have it!!

Whoa there boys... Most people who buy a GTS aren't buying it as an investment! (unless they are stupid) - they are buying it to enjoy and probably most don't expect to sell it any time soon...
I think to each his own - do what makes you happy.
Even if you have a US spec totally stock immaculate GTS - this isn't the model that the Porsche engineers/designers intended - there are lots of bastardizations purely to meet US DOT standards...
There are also flaws and omissions with the car - not a lot but some significant ones.
I also don't really understand the desire to have a totally stock car with non-functioning ancient originally equipped accessories or hopelessly outdated audio... but some like that.
I don't run stock spec tires or tire sizes... (who does?) Personally I wouldn't add a full body kit - but I do have a Jaquemond rear wing...
Meanwhile my intake & cams covers are powder coated black, I have alternate intake tubes, wipers, a provet system, dual oil coolers, an extra battery, dual amps, subwoofer, alternate speakers and modern head unit with navigation, an alternate TPMS, rear washers, built in radar detector, cupholders, retrofitted ROW: fog lights w/HID, H4 headlight and electric headlight adjusters.
The changes are visually mostly quite subtle - but far far from stock
Just do what you want to do (and do it well)
And... to the rest of you -If you want a GTS better buy one now while there are still some "stockish" ones left...

To those of you who like what we are doing, we appreciate your support. To those of you who don't, we are going with what my Mother still says: "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it" T.
