Default Tires, tires, tires...16" options.

Looking for what options I have for the OEM staggered fitments?

The 225/50|255/45 16s appear to be a challenging set to find.

I think Falken is the only choice these days...

I've been looking into this lately - going to actually try some stock 16's on one of my 87's for a change. The only two viable choices for a matched set of S4 front/rear I've found are:

Toyo Proxes T1R's
Fuzion ZRi's

Leaning towards the Toyo's at the moment - slightly softer compound should provide for better grip. Haven't got around to pricing them up locally yet - too much other stuff to do to the 928 in question before I'm ready to get it on the road.

I saw the Fuzions, but I thought OEM rear was 255/45, not 245/45.

225/50/16 up front and 245/45/16 in the rear. I think your only option for a matching set are the Fuzion's.

Bridgestone 960 pole position. All season radials. Forget which, but the back size they have is close enough. Getting long mileage from these on two cars.

Just a thought but you could try to get a used set of 17" wheels. Really opens up the range of tires available.

The new radiator is in BTW. I had to take it out again due to a leak from the temp sensor, fixed now. The hardest part was re-mounting the front valance, just finished doing it in the rain.

Ya..I'll end up there, but theres far far too many things that need that $ first.

Right now, ive got rubber thats begging to split and come apart from age.

I have the Fuzion ZRi's or whatever they are called. 245/45/16 on the back. Seem fine to me.
I was running Michelin Pilot AS Sport Plus. Got 11,000 out of them with my alignment in spec. Tirerack wouldn't help me with a warranty claim (45,000 treadwear rating). Local dealer wouldn't do anything since I got them from tire rack. Buying all my tires locally now. For a few dollars more I'll have someone to go to bat for me and keep the dollars in my community.

I'm running the Fuzion ZRi's on my car and I'm very happy with them. Bridgestone makes them, and they are a quality tire. I bought mine from the Tire Works, they came with a 45,000 mile wear guarantee, and road hazard. When these are worn out I'll mount my next set on the Cup II wheels I've got sitting in boxes in the garage.

Before I got my Carrera III wheels I put the Fuzions on the rear of my S4. They worked well but got very noisy in 5k miles. In fact, the whine they made was one of the reasons I started looking for new wheels... ymmv

While your sorting the car out and pinching Benjamin's, used tires may be a viable choice.
