Default 928 Steering Wheel

Hi There,

I'm over on the 964 board and have a question. Does anyone here have a 928 wheel they are willing to sell? I believe it's 365 MM diameter. Does the horn button have 928 script on it?

Thank You

From what model year? I have a black leather wheel w/ airbag from a late model 928 I would part with for a reasonable price.

Looking for a non airbag version, I think, although that expands my question a little. Are the Air Bag versions any different, other than the bag itself? Can a non airbag horn button be retrofitted to an air bag wheel? Is the diameter for both versions 365MM?

Thanks

I think I might sell my non-airbag wheel from an 82. I was gonna keep it in case I ever wanted to go back to stock, but I'm guessing that will never happen. It does say 928 on the horn button though.

The non-airbag 928 steering wheel with four spokes measures 14 7/8 inches in diameter which translates to 377.8 mm diameter. I guess we need to know just what steering wheel you are really talking aobut. The diameter I measured is to the outside of the grip-ring of the wheel.

I have seen four spoke 928 steering wheels that say: 928, 928S, and Porsche on the horn pad. I would guess you would be after the latter.

I'm interested in the wheel for my 964. The 928 wheel is similar to the European 964 wheel used as a "sport" RS wheel. I am told there is a 365 MM version and that they used a 928 part number.... and yes I would prefer the Porsche Crest embossed on horn button.

Robot, I sent you a PM.

The shaft diameter is different between the airbag 928's and the non air bag cars. If your 964 is non, then you want an early 928 wheel, pre-90.

You are going to get air bag fault warning w/o the airbag wheel...

I have a classic gray air bag wheel for sale. $250 plus shipping... Good to very good condition... it came out of my '94 928 GTS. I got a Paul Champagne stock airbag wheel (well, I bought another wheel and sent it to him...he does not have or make wheels), just recovers what you send to him.

I'm pretty sure I have one of each at the shop.
But I only sell my wheels restored, and I won't know for sure for another 3 weeks, as I am currently on a trip, away from the shop.

You can probably see what you are looking for on my website. Just click on the picture below.
