Default Formuling France hub for 928??

Anyone know where I can get a hub to fit a Formuling France steering wheel to my 86.5 928?? I have looked around but nothing is available for these wheels anymore. I assume they went under or something, but I love the wheel and would like to put it in my car....

Thanks for the input!
Paul

I would assume an adapter plate could be easily made to mate your steering wheel to a MOMO hub adapter. What Mr Merlin said.

I think that the Formuling is weird because it has 9 screws attaching the wheel to the hub. Here is a picture of a wheel so you can see the arrangement. I will go out to the garage and measure it to see what the hub measurements are. I have thought about an adapter plate before, but wasn't sure how to go about doing it. This has always been my favorite wheel, although it does not look as cool as some today, and I would love to be able to use it again.

Okay, measured the wheel. From #1 to #4 (1/3rd of the way around) is 3 5/16", the hub is about 4 1/4" across, and just going from #1 to #2 is about 1 5/16".

I guess I could just get a new wheel, but this one has some sentimental value, so if anyone knows a way that I could use it, I would be a happy camper. Otherwise, I guess I will put it on the wall and go buy a Momo.

If you will send me the Formuling wheel and give me an idea of how deep you need the adapter to be, I'll make you one. I will also need an original 928 steering wheel that I can destroy to get the spline segment out of to put in the adapter. I think I will also need a servicable horn ring/cacellation segment so that can be incorporated also. That will possibly come with the 928 wheel, or I can supply one of ny own. Let me know if you are interested. No, there will not be a charge for this project. Anyone brave enough to live in the great state of KS deserves a break. Jerry Feather

Ryan how about mounting a clock in the center of the wheel and hang it on the wall.
Tossing it in the trash seems like a waste to me,
plus now we find out the wheel has sentimental value

if you have the wall space then go for it, sounds better than having to put it in a car.

Maybe you thought I was not serious. Here are a couple of pictures of your new hub. Does it look like a hub/adapter for your steering wheel. If not, all we have to do is mill or turn away everything that does not look like what you need and there it will be. Your willingness to puzzle with these guys about hanging this wheel on the wall rather that dealing with the only realistic option kind of amazes me. If your interest is merely academic, then I can understand. Sorry if I was intruding in something that I don't seem to have a clue about. Jerry Feather

Sorry Jerry, I didn't respond to you sooner. I would be happy to take you up on your offer.

I am quite serious about using my old wheel, if as I said before, for no other reason than the sentimental value. I need to find an old wheel (I would like to keep my original one intact), but as soon as I do, I will send both to you and let you have your way with them! Thanks again for the help. It is a very generous offer!!

Paul
