WIDE BODY RACE CAR AT SHARKTOBERFEST 2010
A couple of SoCal Rennlisters have asked for high res pictures and specs for the body parts we developed for my '91 race car. We're getting closer to that point, but in the meantime, I'll be bringing my car and my wife's modified '82 auto to Anaheim for the two days of Mark's great event. My car will hopefully be running its' LS7 that started showing oiling problems before it burned a rod bearing at Laguna. If all the parts get here in time, we'll have it back together with totally new and stronger internals We're adding a 4 pick-up custom oil pan and a 5 stage oil pump to replace the crappy LS7 pump.
My wife's '82 now has the stock LS6 installed, but we haven't done any substantial body mods, just a little suspension/brake work and a tranny & steering rack rebuild. Been stealing parts from the 87.5 that will be our mule for future race car development issues. Probably will be buying a few missing interior parts from Mark that have broken over the previous 28 years. The seats are grey/beige (kind of tough to color match) and the leather surfaces are shot. Will probably have to have the leather redone once we get the cars back to Phoenix.
Hope to see all of you at the Friday night reception and at 928 Intl on Sat & Sunday

A-yep! Me too. Would have done it on the Turquoise car if that were available. Don't get me wrong, I like the shark eye pop up lights but the 928 with out those is about as perfect of a design as you can find.

UPDATE - The fenders have now been painted.
Hey Drew and Dan-
Would like to make the October 16 event at AMP, but that will be cutting it too tight. The next NASA event is late November at PIR and I plan to be there. Haven't joined ProAutoSports, yet. Probably will, but I've gotten spoiled with Laguna Seca, Infineon and Thunderhill being available up north. Hopefully, more events will be scheduled for Inde and AMP

let me know when you come out to laguna next.
car looks good. with an LS7, you should be able to keep up with my friend randy in the LS7 powered camaro! he is now, finally, faster than me and there is nothing I can do about it, cept put on the CF intake. last time he did the HP boost, i did the stroker and was able to beat him the first race out at Sears. He was so pissed, and then in the paddock, he found out that I did the new motor. it was a secret up until that point. that was a fun day. Now, he has got me back. just ran a 1:56 at thunderhill, so i have some things to do!

make the aerodynamics a little better! As it is, my head lights need to be
manually raised as I removed the headlight motor to make more room up
front.

The removal of the headlamps is THE biggest jump in styling I have seen on these cars, subtle and refined looking IMHO.
