Clean OB on CL honolulu

Not Kermit is an understatement... That car is barely even nice. Faded rear bumper cover, looks like a nice scratch at the top of the hatch, seats don't look very good, carpets don't look very good... 69k miles. That is what it looks like...a hard driven put up wet 69k '80 5spd 928... nothing special on this car at all.

Not the going rate. There is almost no market here for any 928 at any price. Probably a $3K car, but a pretty clean $3K car.

Love that rootbeer brown!
Could this be the elusive Tom Sellick-mobile?

That car is incredible condition if it has lived it's entire life in Hawaii. That is one of the most caustic places to own a car.
Come on Karl, you can use another 28.

Nope, not for me. Not enough work to do there. I have been stalking one for $100. It needs a lot more, but would make a lovely Geneva prototype recreation.

Yeah Tony,
I am HNL 3 weeks a month and LA 1. Suprisingly Oahu seems to be OK for cars, except the windward side where the trades blow right off the ocean. I think town side must be protected by the Ko'olau range somewhat. I suspect Maui and Kauai are much worse. My S4 has been here its whole life with minimal care or attention and not one spot of corrostion anywhere. Paint is falling off, but no rust. My 944cab has been here its whole life and it has a couple of minor corrosion issues, but I suspect they are not unusual (the third brake light on top of the rear deck, for example, seems like a rust trap). Give me a shout if you have a long layover and we will go for a cruse some time. My cars are nothing like yours of course, but still a nice way to see the island.

Priced reasonably now, I think. I can look at this if anyone is interested.

Sure would be fun. I have not gotten started because:
1) The lady with #511 (the $100 '78) won't call me back. I think she has decided she does not like me for some reason. If I want to buy this car I think I will have to have a friend buy it for me. Not sure I need the drama.
2) I would need to get my speedster replica gone to make room for this and it needs some work before that can happen.
3) I keep spending more and more money upgrading my '79 cab to a level of performance that is closer to my S4. Maybe is would make more sense to make a Genivea tribute car by starting with a red 86.5 with a trashed interior. You would have to source some so early interior detail parts, but you would have a lot more car. But then again it would be a lot further from an actual recreation. Can you fit early phone dials over S4 brakes?
4) I can source white leather no problem, but I am far from sure about the pasha. My thought is to have Paul do his thing on some what leather and stain the exposed leather black. Or perhaps silkescreen a pasha pattern onto white leather.
