Hmmm is it not legal there? You can turn it off if you feel it's disrespectful to LEO ... but I've had them stand there talking to me and never has the detector come up as a topic of discussion.

Why spend all the money on a hidden unit and them make it where you can see it?

I have nothing to hide basically this is the best detector available. It has front and rear license plate sensors, so it covers all corners of the car. the only thing I want hidden, are the external sensors so that I don't look like a radar detection weather station ... preserve the look of the Porsche ... inside is my cockpit and again there, I find the display no worse than any other instrument.

I'm not trying to hide ... I want a) effective corner-to-corner nose-to-tail protection and b) attractive, otherwise I could just mount my car batttery to the roof

Mine is an SR-1 and the later model is SR-7 https://www.escortradar.com/store/passport-sr7.html .... still outperforms the other options All this is of course my personal opinion

I've been pulled over a total of 4 times in 10 1/2 years. That should say something don't you think?

Far from even the middle of the pack and no where near the best IMHO.

Very old tech.

But yet you think the Valentine One (which is an older design) is still good? SR-1 works fine for me with the diffuser system in addition. What new technology has come in from the other side that the SR1 doesn't do? POP maybe ....

That feed horn is known to have issues with K and KA band detection, it is based on the old 7500 series feed horn.

Thanks Dave for the pics. That is cool the LED upgrade, no need to really mentally process which red light is on when you have multi colors. Simple glance and you know.

What do you do / plan to do, when you get pulled over? Just leave the display sitting there in plain view of the LEO? Having a couple of LEO friends in CHP and two nephews in AZ police depts they all make it clear it pisses them off to see blatant use of RD/Jammers even though it might be legal. Stealth is very important.

Yes, it is in case all else fails and you do get pulled over.
Like my friend Chuck said, "We (LOE's) tend to view RD's as a way of cheating us from doing our job, and you can bet that if I pull a car over that has a RD in it they are not getting a warning, EVER."

I laughed at him, he is a shift Sergeant and said "Chuck, you have not carried a uniform citation book in years" he looked at me and said, "I can damn sure get one fast enough"

I actually think he may have given me a ticket if he saw one hanging from my windshield, at least he said he would.

That was why I went with a hidden unit.

I believe the best value to a remote install system is less chance someone will break a window and try to grab it, even if they can see the remote display.
