I think that's a 2011 model. There's also a Cayenne GTS...

Yup, they are going back to the best of the P-car line up the 928GTS and pilfering our letters! LOL! After Chuck got rid of his GTS (that he now owns again) he felt lonely and left out with only Kermit in the garage so he got one of the Cayenne GTS's! I think he really liked it actually too... now we have the 911 GTS... At least Porsche gives us a bit of a tip of the hat by naming the top N/A version of each car they do as the GTS! I'll take the nod!

We also have a Targa Four that isn't a Targa at all. Revival of vintage names is showing a pattern.
The last GTS I owned was a lot closer to a Targa. (Dino 246 GTS) With the removable roof.

I don't like it (the moniker not the car).
I always think of "GTS" as denoting performance AND luxury. (Don't ask me how the 924GTS fits in that definition)
I wouldn't be happy being a 911 owner and getting what I perceived to be badged as a luxury version. It seems counter to the 911 branding. It also seems to be an acknowledgement that the 911 is becoming a GT car as opposed to a sports car, which also wouldn't make me happy as a 911 owner.
Good thing I'm not a 911 owner I guess.

At Porsche, the GTS designation often signifies the "end of the road" for a particular model. The 997 is in its last year of production; it will be followed by the much enhanced 991 in mid-2011.
