Sad to hear you had to let her go. I know how you feel though. Don't keep looking at the empty space... It will only make it worse. If an insane deal pops up, you'll be ready...

Two different people this summer asked if my car is for sale when they've seen it parked in my parking lot.

I told both people "no" and that I actually want to get second car.

They're neat cars and I've had many people tell me things like "I used to own one, wish I never sold it" or "Glad to see you're keeping this on the road, you don't see many of these around"....

I've had my car for close to 16 years now. At this point, I wouldn't sell it unless I desperately needed the money (life saving operation or to prevent my house from being foreclosed)

Just got off the phone with Sterling, had to tell him in person the wheels went with the car. Sorry man. And yeah the only thing I'm absolutely positively sure about is my next car will have enough power to rotate the earth.

Wow, surprising.. but 5 figures for a US 83 is very good money.

I say start a long slow hunt for a Euro S 5-speed.. you've got the F-car to keep you happy so there's no rush. Take your time and track down a great paint/interior 80-85 16V Euro S.

Twin turbos on a LSx do a very nice job of that. Congratulations on the sale. Liked your car...loved the Fikses...

Definitely European, no pony cars or ricers for me....although I've always wanted to build a bridgeported Rx7...but that's a different project. I'll need a daily driver and if I go the 928 route I'm thinking Greg Brown stroker.

Was out tuning this afternoon, some MILF in a Panamera Turbo tried to move around me after we turned onto an uphill stretch of Newport Coast Drive. Nuh uh

Yell when you're in SoCal and I'll give you a hit off the crack pipe. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.....

At least you still have the 308. BTW, Art Kimmel from the Ferrari boards says hello... [we work together]

Must've been interesting without traction control.. You're half a tonne lighter and have a few more hp - did you spin the rears?

Nah, just kept increasing the rate of change of velocity over about 1000 feet til it was clear to her that she wasn't going to get her way. Don't think she was used to that, judging by the look she gave me. There are a surprising number of leadfoot ladies around here. I also passed a new AMG SLS 6.3 but he was on the phone, I'm sure I didn't even register in his universe.

[Unhijack] Mark, it's a great market to be a fun-car buyer, I'm sure something interesting will come along.

For a DD? Needs reliability as well as power?.. you could get one of the Aussie cars.. G8 or GTO..

Or, if it has to be Euro, 996TT?

Neighbor of mine has a GTO, Camaro SS, Trans Am WS6 and believe it or not, a very nice Fiero GTV6. Definitely likes his GM iron, and that GTO does sound good...nice interior too. But that 996tt is definitely tempting, easy 500hp for under 40k.

I did drive the 928 for a solid hour this morning between 8 and 9am before he got here, just enjoyed running it open and listening to that Borla. Last time I drove it.
