Default Running like CHIT!

My '91 $$$$4 automatic is stumbling like crazy till I get RPMs high and get it moving. It has dropped to a very rough (4 cyl?) mode intermittently at warm stoplight idles for a few months and yesterday just didn't want to run til I floored it, slammed it into gear and forced it to move. Once I got it rolling and ran it in third gear it cleared up........until I turned it off and came back a few hours later to drive again. Could it be a clogged fuel filter or am I looking at pump(s) or worse yet, MAF or LH? The plugs, wires, and caps are new and the intake has been refreshed with all new sensors, etc, by Davek9, about 6 months ago.

My mechanical abilities are only a decimal point above electrical (which is -.9) and Dave is 100 miles away so unless I get get it to him, I may be forced to have someone else look at it and I would rather give me a fighting chance of him finding the problem quicker than dicking around for days. Appreciate some help.

The trouble is your wheels. Send them to me and all will be fine.

Be careful. If your problem is a failing ignition module (running on 4 cyl). Flogging the car can cause a FIRE. Don't run it hard to try and fix it. In fact don't run it at all until you determine whats going on.
