Does the Euro "low compression" 85/86 32v motor have a throttle body smaller than the S2?

The US 85/86 32v use essentially the same size throttle body as the Euro S2.

BTW no need to guess on flow losses, somebody could just measure the pressure at various points in the intake system. Ideally measure both temperature and pressure.

All S 2 use a 80 mm TB.The S 3 TB is 75 mm.
The look from the outside is the same.
Left S3 right S2
The S3 tb is conical to the plate and machining the tube isn´t a good idea because the tube break! Ask me why I know! :-(

Would you check/show the casting numbers on the throttle bodies? Euro S2 and US are I think the same.

My steel RMB is an ugly bastard, one year in use and rust all over there.
On high speed autobahn rides my oil consumption is very high, I think I need a provent solution for this problem.
We have a $75.00 baffle that fits under the filler neck that virtually eliminates the oil consuption issue, on the S4 engines. Should do the same for the S3 engines....

Note that to use a S2 throttle body on a S3, you have to swap the throttle plate axle and relay lever, springs.

If you have a donor '86 S2 TB, you may only have to swap the relay lever as the cam gate (which controls the opening rate of the throttle) on the '86 should be the same for S2 and S3.

No,they aren´t!
S 3 = 92811009914
S 2 = 92811009903

@Porken,
I think the rule is : Ship every 86 S 2 TB immedially to you! ;-)

Greg,
interesting!Isn´t there a stock baffle with parallel slits?
If I buy one,did you tell me something about improved cam profiles for a S3? ;-)

Looks like the Euro 85/86 32v used a different smaller throttle body than the US 85/86 32v.

AFAIK, there are no ROW '85 32V. All S3 TBs are 75mm...except Karsten's.
