Its been dreary and rainy here all day, but the sun came out for a couple minutes which was all i needed to test a plug-and-play harness for the <89 cars (90+ will need a different configuration).
I use standard female spade terminals, and they plug directly onto the chassis harness. Construction time was less than 10min including finding lost tools... etc, so VERY easy.
I am going to actually type up some real instructions tonight and post them so that if you guys want to pre-install and adjust the modules (have some adjustments to increase/decrease force for windows), you could do that ahead of time.
It is possible to get 90% of the function of these modules without any extra wiring. To get the alarm functions, venting... etc, a 12v+ power lead needs to be sourced from the fuse panel post. Otherwise, you can use the 12v supplied to the window switch and have no extra work. It is not hard to run the lead from the positive terminal on the fuse panel, but it will add another 5-10minutes to the job, and since you have to remove and install a nut it "technically" isnt plug-and-play
Admittedly, I have installed these things before, and I have a good grasp of the electrical system, but no one will have any problem at all finishing their harness at home, or installing it. I am still happy to do it for you, but for the week or so turnaround in the mail to send me the harness that comes with the DEI, you are really better off doing at home. All you need are simple/common tools: crimper, lighter, and wire cutters. I will send out pre-cut lengths of wire, heatshrink, and the necessary connectors as part of the kit.
Thanks
Hans

Those instructions will work for 16 valve models as well I assume ?
I spoke to my alarm guy and gave him the manuals Paul sent me (thanks) he said he may need 1 DEI module from you but he has the other one...he just needs instructions for them
When they are ready etc....

I have completed the rough draft (technically accurate, but overly wordy) of the high-current connection for the 530T module on the 89 and older cars. I have included notes for installing with constant power, sourced from the CE power lug, and also switched power from the factory connectors. I have also included notes for re-purposing the factory switch pigtails, and also doing an installation with off-the-shelf female blade terminals.
I ordered a new 529T module to do the write up for the sunroof. I purchased it from ebay today for $19/shipped.
The completed manual wont be available until I have a chance to order the raw materials for the switch harnesses. I wont know the final colors for the switch leads till then, but if anyone needs the manual for connecting the high-current side of the modules before then, you can PM me and I will send you the rough draft.
Thanks
Hans

My alarm guy came to see me today after he had read Paul's manuals , he said I already had one of the 2 DEI units fitted and could get the other one (Sunroof).
So whenever the switch units are ready all I will need is the unit plus instructions...
I have had several 928 owners on various UK forums asking for pictures and comments once the unit is fitted, which I will do...

Hello everyone,
the time as come for this product to move to production. Hans and I have finalized the design, tied up the loose ends and completed the agreements with the suppliers. The first order of both the light strips and the switches is in to their respective manufacturers.
So as we discussed, those of you that requested to be put on the list for pre-orders and receive the discounted price, will get an email or PM requesting the payment.
Those who forgot, but would still want to be part of that first batch can do so by sending me an email at champagn@stx.rr.com
Once the components are in, I will contact each one personally to discuss the choices like finish, layout and graphics, prior to assembling your custom panel.
Here are a few more pictures:

As a reminder:
On a side note, while developping this particular product, and through our relationship with one of our suppliers, we were able to develop another product that some of you might find interesting.
So look for another post for something fun that is about to also be introduced.
Thanks again, and as always, either Hans or I will be available to answer questions.
