No good deed goes unpunished.
I went to remove the other ground point, and it was already loose. Well, good I thought. Glad I caught it.

Wrong. I went to replace the bolt to find that it was actually stripped, hence the looseness. And, this bolt doesn't just hold the ground strap, but has structural function, holding the throttle cable pulley guide and other things.

Looking through my supply of heli-coils...

It may be time to quit for the night.

I got the Heli-Coil in no problem, but while moving the bracket out of the way, the plug for the timing impulse sender crumbled. While trying to removing that the sensor end of that piece, the hex bolt that holds it in place stripped Double Hosed.

<sigh>

Thanks to Brett, got the Impulse sender off. Still need a new one.
Also, still missing a wrench, but quitting for the night.

Great job. You will have it done in no time and will now have the satisfaction that a couple of more future problem areas are taken care of.

Also, I'm not sure I could put up a camera in my garage. All people would see is a guy wandering around his garage scratching his head and cursing at his 928 and maybe after a month a little progress on the car.

Again, good work. Keep it up.

I spend a lot of time wandering around scratching my head. Makes for boring web cam content, but I can't afford hot models to come in and fill the down time.
I also spend a lot of time pulling up my pants to avoid too much plumbers crack, whereas if there was no cam, I would care less.

Good question. The video through the inspection port from above was not clear enough to be decisive, but it looked okay. I will check in the next week or two when I get get it up on jacks and can drop the lower pan.

Okay, impulse sensor replaced (Thanks Rog!), stripped threads repaired (Thanks Heli-Coil), all fuel hoses refreshed (Rog Again!) and leak tested, car back together and running just fine.

Not sure what will be on the Garage Cam next, but I'll post to this thread again when it is live.
